Possible January trip (2020)

I know its wicked far away, but I need to start saving now for any future trips.

My next trip may be January and I'm thinking perhaps a Wednesday to Sunday (or Monday) trip. I'm thinking that since MLK is 01/20/20 that year, I should be ok for an arrival of 01/22/20. Do you folks thin a 01/29/20 trip would be better?

Weather advice - I'm assuming that we'll be looking at low 60s into the 70s. Is that a fair estimate?

Crowds, I think the crowds will be the thinnest after marathon week any thoughts on this?

We're looking at the AoA, Pop or maybe CBR, though I really want this be on a tight budget. The last couple of trips were at deluxe and broke the bank so to speak.

Well, Darth Vader, I'm thinking January would be a good time to go. You won't be in the midst of the chaos when SW:GE edge opens Fall 2019. Now, because of that, WDW might be busier at all times because of the new land. But January tends to be a slower month.

That's my thinking. I floated two possible time frames with the wife, and January and Late September (or early October). The latter has the Halloween theming going for it, as well as the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Temps will be warmer for the kids to enjoy the pool, but September may be very hot.

January has lower prices, crowds are not crushing. I'm leaning towards January :)

AND Fall 2019 will have crushing crowds due to opening of SW:GE.

Sorry for the confusion, I was not clear in my post. If we do a fall trip, it won't be 2019, sorry for the confusion. We'd be pushing out the trip to the fall of 2020, to an earlier date for two reasons.

1. I'm broke, and I need the time to save up for the this trip.
2. Star Wars coupled with TSL will certain cause some heavy crowds :)

We are aiming for January 2020 as well! Like you, we need time to save up :) We will most likely go around MLK weekend so my daughter doesn’t have to miss as much school. Weather will most likely be 60’s and 70’s like you mentioned however, if there is a cold snap, January is most likely the time it would happen. A friend of mine went this past January the week prior to MLK and they had a good 3-4 days of rainy, cold days- like 40’s and 50’s. So you never know! But honestly, I would take that over the summer heat and humidity :)
The crowd calendars I have seen look decent around that time. Mostly moderate crowds with a spike around marathon weekend and MLK weekend. Weekdays looks good though.
Have fun planning!

You'd be better off the week before MLK than the week after it. There's a nice slow period the week between Marathon and MLK. Crowded each of those weekends, but if you're only doing four nights I'd say Monday-Friday after Marathon would be the sweet spot.

Perhaps, but since we're pulling the kids out of school, the Disney trip will have include a weekend. That is fly out late Wednesday (not missing any school), and then depart Sunday evening. Because a holiday weekend will be busier, I'm hesitant to book it for MLK
