Eh, naw I seriously doubt it. Poseidons is a cool attraction and I don't exactly see any need for any refurbishent but then again I don't have a refurbishment schedule, so yea. But if you hear anything, mind letting me know?:D

Version 2.1

Am I the only person that thought the original version (pre-show *and* main show) was better than the current one?

Granted, the first featured a animated villain, but anything is better than the current film of two guys in bad halloween costumes - one being a Darth Maul rip-off - the other looking a rip-off of a Shakespear play. Horrible.

Also, they complete KILLED the final effect.

SPOILER below of a special effect used in the main show:

Originally, guests walked from the 2nd show room (with the turning puzzle door), through the water tunnel, and into the main show room, which was already "open" and guests could see the "palace-like" interior. At the end, guests were sent back to the 2nd show room with the dropping-room effect.

Now (the last time I saw it), guests go from that 2nd showroom, through the water tunnel, and into what appears to be another room that duplicates the previous one. After bright flashes of light and darkness, the walls are lifted, revealing the palace, and then at the end of the show, the walls are dropped once again. This complete kills the effect.

The effect was designed much like a magic trick that would make David Copperfield proud. But as all magicians know, do an effect twice and you're not going to get that "surprise" element.

Not to mention the fact that Fury does the effect twice AND backwards, basically taking the "wet your pants" punch out of the original effect that made the attraction worth seeing.

I remember the "holy crap!" surprise feeling I had when, at the end of the show, we teleported back into the previous show room. Now, we walk from one room to the next and people are confused because the rooms are nearly identical.

Note - the added decorations in the first showroom - skeletons, etc. ALSO kill the original effect because the two rooms are no longer identical.

The illusion was never intented to be used with the wall rising up - it was intended to be used with the wall dropping down. With the wall rising up, guests have the chance to "figure out" the illusion by looking around (and upward) and seeing where the wall went. With the original dropping wall only - guests were hit with such a quick punch that they didn't have time to really comprehend how they got back into the previous room.

I have alot of gripes about the "new" version of Fury.

As for its transformation from the original version, that had to be the worst rehab in theme park history.
