Portable charger recommendation

I did a general search for portable chargers, but most of the discussions seemed a few years old. What are your recommendations for portable chargers while at the park's? Do you use fuel rods? I heard that you now need to pay to change out the fuel rods, is this still true? Do they even have enough power to decently charge the larger phones like Samsung Notes?

We do have a charger, but it is the size of a wallet. If there was a smaller version that worked really well, I would prefer that for the park. We are considering going to bagless, at least some days. So something that could easily fit in my cargo pants would be nice.

I carried an Anker 13000 for a couple of years. It and a phone in cargo pants were a load but it could charge a laptop if need be. Security checked it a couple of times when I entered bagless.
With the phone today it will last long enough if I go in charged so the battery collects dust unless I am traveling to points unknown.

I use Anker.
I think it have a 10,000mah.
It charges the phone quite a bit while being quite small.
Never used Fuel Rod. I k now Disney TRIED to charge but then there was an uproar so last thing I heard was it never actually went into effect.

I still have my fuel rod from my last trip and when I checked the website there was no mention of charging for replacement. I do recall they charged $3 to do it at US which would really add up over a day there.

FYI what I found out is that if you purchased the fuel rod prior to October 26th 2019 you get free exchanges and if you bought after that you have to pay the $3 fee.
They know who is who based on your email address.

Also just wanted to tell you that if your reason for trying to go bagless has to do with security that's no longer a factor.
Security is a breeze now.
If its just because you don't want to carry a bag around then that's another story.

Do they do bag checks anymore?
My last trip was September 2019, but, I think I bought the trip before that one I don't recall putting an email address in though, but, I probably did, I'll soon find out.

If you dont want to carry a portable charger they have charging cases which usually hold at least a full charge once the phone is about to die. Most arent that much bigger than a normal case.

You just walk through a scanner. No stopping unless they ask you to.
If you have an umbrella they ask you to hold it out in front of you as you walk through.

I primarily use Anker but I also carry around a Fuel Rod in my backpack. Does anybody have experience with any of the MagSafe compatible charger packs for iPhone? I’ve been looking into them but don’t know how good they are.

I use an INIU--it fits nicely in my mini-back pack or hip bag. Not heavy at all, compared to the brick I used to use. Charges very fast and will charge my laptop, tablet, or iPhone.

So the entire security works differently now? There are no bag checks? I haven't been in almost 5 years due to covid. If that is the case maybe there is no point in trying to go bagless. The entire point of me trying to avoid the bag besides the hassle of having it with us all day, was avoiding the long lines at security.

I am brand agnostic on chargers, but I highly recommend finding one that has the AC plug in the adapter. Whenver you see an outlet, you can just plug it in. For instance, when you exit Space Mountain... there are outlets. And so on. No need to carry a big bulky charger if you can top it off while eating something.

That is correct. Everybody just walks through the scanners and if the system detects something that needs to be investigated by security, they take you off to the side and check you bag. The new process is really simple.

THAT is some good information right there! I loathed the bag checks when they started doing them. It took forever to get in the parks sometimes.
