Port Orleans - Riverside

Can anyone confirm if parts of the Port Orleans-Riverside Resort is "shut down" due to the cut-backs?

I have made reservations there from April 1 - 6th, but don't really want to stay there if part of it is closed. I know Port Orleans-French Quarter is still closed because I checked on it first.

Thanks for the help!!

We're staying there Jan31-Feb 10. The manor houses are definately closed right now, and only the Aligator bayou section is open. However, I hear that some time in Feb the whole place will be back open as high season arrives. I suspect they will be open in April but you never know.

No big deal

I believe that there are entire sections or floors of each resort that are closed right now. Only make financial sense. If you know you are only going to operating at 60% occupancy, why not close down 25% of the resort? Saves on wear and tear, etc... I don't think it would change your stay at all, other than the pools would be less crowded. We have stayed at PO-Riverside when it has been less than half full, I actually enjoyed it more.

we have reservations in June
and were not told anything was closed
in June in fact we requested a room
in the "closed" section--
wonder if that means it will reopen???

i hope so.

Actually the manor rooms are opened and so are the bayou rooms. More bayou rooms though are closed (the one's farthest from the main area). Even though buildings are closed you can still walk anywhere throughout the resort. Stayed there last month, and it was fine. Very quiet.

Thanks alot for the report!! If the manor rooms are open, I think I will call and request those. My In-Laws said they preferred those over the bayou rooms. Still with that Port Orleans would reopen before April...
