Port Orleans Riverside vs Art of Animation

I'm going to be staying a short weekend in June to check out new fantasyland, and I was wondering based on everyone's experience, would you stay at Port Orleans Riverside of Art of Animation? with the special offer, its only a difference of $4 haha.

The amenities don't really matter all that much since we wont be there long, and most time spent will be in the parks. Whats most important to me is transportation, getting a snack and a drink, taking a dip in the pool and having a comfy bed (I stayed in the All Star Music Resort once and I felt like the bed linens were kind of itchy)

Thanks guys!!

We loved AoA, but if you want a comfy bed, you should pick PORS. The AoA beds were short and firm. I'm only 5'4, but my feet touched the bottom. I think that for adults, the PORS has more to offer. Also, AoA was very noisy at night. PORS was nice and quiet and cozy.

I lived Riverside when it was called Dixie Landings. My dad stayed at AoA during his short stay while we were there in Dec. since he didn't need a suit he was in the only standard room section, The Little Mermaid. We checked out his resort and walked through each section, each designed beautifully. The only downside that he had was that his walk to get breakfast and to get the busses was Very far and he had a short window to get to the dinning hall to eat due to his diabetes medication. The rooms at riverside will be larger and the resort is quieter then AoA is. If most of your time is in the parks and small group AoA but peacefullness and comphy beds is what you desire PORS. You also might want to do a comparison with the current offerings since it is is staggered with more savings for Moderate resorts over Value Resorts. OK I rambled enough. My choice between these two is PORS hands down. Unless your party is large enough to justify a family suit at AoA in which dinning and busses would be closer but then again your stuck with the loudness and not as comphy bedding.

You have to remember that while AoA has the suites, it is still a "value" resort so the quality of the furnishings and linens etc. are that one step below where POR would be as a moderate. Personally, we stay at values almost exclusively however we stayed at POR on our last trip and it quickly became my favorite resort. We were hoping to stay at AoA on this next trip (in a Cars Suite) but financially, I think the only way we are going to get a trip in is going to be to return to an All Star resort or Pop.

Now that said... the pools at AoA are awesome from what I've heard. The Nemo pool has underwater sounds that are beyond entertaining and the theming of the entire property is fantastic. Not to say POR's isn't but it's in a different category. POR is themed to look like a place whereas obviously AoA is themed to movies and more "kid friendly" as far as bright colors etc. etc.

Since it's just the two of you, I'd assume you're weighing a Little Mermaid room against POR (since a suite would be an awful lot of room for just you two) so if that's the case, I'd have to vote for POR. :D

totally agree with this if it is only two of you staying in the resort. You will really enjoy PORS. the Little Mermaid section's walk to the busses/dinning hall really is a haul to get to having to pass through The Little Mermaid, then Lion King then 1/2 of the Nemo Sections to get to it. The beauty and theming is cool but you really don't want that journey back to the room after a long day to get your resort cup just to have to walk back to the dinning section to get a refill to take back to your room.

POR. I really don't have a big desire to pay for a suite at a value and the mermaid rooms are in the back at AofA... so for me other than the fact AofA is new and wonderfully themed I would choose moderate over any value any day...
