Port Orleans Riverside Refurb

Does anyone know if a refurb is planned for Port Orleans Riverside since they have done French Quarter? We are revisiting in September 2004 and want to make sure our reservations hold for Riverside and they do not redirect us to French Quarter if a refurb is planned. Don't get me wrong, I know FQ is a nice hotel, but we are an hour outside of New Orleans and are burnt out on the Mardi Gras theme. Any info would be appreciated.

The Riverside rehab will be done in phases so the resort never has to fully shut down. They will close parts of the resort at different times during the next year.

When I was there last week they told us at check in that Magnolia Terrace was closed for refurb/updates. So, like the second poster said :) I think they'll do it in phases. Maybe they'll figure out a way to make the bathrooms bigger (my only gripe).

Oak Manor (building 90) has already been refurbished. Magnolia Terrace is down right now and I believe that it's the Acadian House that's going to be next.

Doing one mansion at a time right now, word is that 2 or 3 Bayous will be down at a time when it gets to them.

The main pool just got a rehab, the slide won't open until Friday.

It's about time they refurbished the pool, it was looking pretty bad. Last time I was there they had a fence or something so you couldn't swim under the bridge. It basically cut the pool in half.

Any chance that Magnolia Terrace will be back open in 2 wks? (Not holding my breath here, just really wanted that building).

Last year they did a rebab, and took the bridge down. The reason they had the fence up is because the bridge was rotting and they didn;t want it to fall on anyone LOL!!!

There's a chance. I'll take a look tomorrow. I'm thinking it's coming back about the first of June.

Thanks  We'll be getting there on May 26. If it's not opened, which other building would you suggest requesting (near a bus stop - of course, I know we may get it, but I'll request anyway. lol)
