We are staying at POFQ the next time we go to the world. Does anyone have a favorite room/location that we should request. We stayed at PORS-Alligator Bayou last time we went (Christmas 2013) and loved it, but we want a smaller resort this time.

Honestly, the resort is so small there really isn't a "bad" location. Building 4 is closest to the food court and bus stop; Buildings 5 & 6 are closest to the pool. But you can get anywhere from anyplace in less than 5 minutes.

POFQ was the first WDW Resort which we stayed at and we loved it. We had a room overlooking the pool on our first stay and two years later we had a river view room which was nice and quiet but a slightly longer walk to the pool and buses etc

Thanks for the help! We aren't in our rooms very often, but we do have someone with 2 knee replacements so being closer to things is important after walking all day. I think we will shoot for building 4. I kind of figured they were all pretty close when there wasn't a preferred room option.

My dad also had two knee replacements and a first floor room in Building 4 was perfect for him!

November was my first time staying at POFQ. I absolutely loved it!!! The resort is tiny, the food is delicious (and you get a lot for a QS meal -- the po'boys are HUGE!). We stayed in building number three on the first floor facing the parking lot--since there are no balconies to sit on, I don't see why facing the water or pool would need to be paid for. Plus, facing the parking lot made it great for when we took an Uber back from the Boardwalk or Polynesian--it literally pulled up to our door. The walk to the bus was about 2.5 minutes. The walk for food, about 2 minutes. The walk to the game room and gift shop, about 1.5 mins. The walk to the pool and pool bar, about 2 mins. They have a nice, big laundry center right by the pool. It was so nice for us and for families. A lot of guests seemed to be doing laundry (like us) and sitting at the pool bar/swimming. It was incredibly convenient.

The grounds are really beautiful, from the edging and gardens to the water fountains. I have stayed at almost all of the deluxe hotels, and would rank this one up there with beauty (plus the price is unbeatable). Also, at night they have horse and carriage rides the actually go down the main road there. It's really neat to hear the click-clack of their hooves on the brick walkway. You truly feel as though you are in New Orleans. Also, the jazz music they play, and the other atmospherical elements (such as the street signs and the lobby decorations) envelop you in a whole other world.

The greeter at the door (seemed to be rotated between 2-3 men) gave out beads, doubloons, and doubloon beads every day as you walk in/out of the door on the way to the bus. It's a fun takeaway for anyone. Everyone there was so nice, especially the people in the gift shop. The environment is extremely relaxed, quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend it!

The one super nice thing is that we had our own bus service. Only once did we have to loop around to the Riverside (I think it was when going to the AK). But we were picked up first and always had a seat. The only downfall is that the POFQ bus stop outside of the theme parks is somewhat at the end (for example at the MK it was the last stop at the end of the second row).

Being November, we did have issues with the changing weather and room temperature. Some times we needed air on, some times heat. But that has nothing to do with the hotel, but rather atmospherical conditions. Many various rooms would prop open the door to the room to let in some air (without having to put on the air conditioning).

We stayed at POFQ a few years ago, and have it booked again for our Fall '15 trip. It's one of my favorite resorts, definitely my favorite moderate. I preferred it over Riverside, just because I like the smaller size. We were in building 3 when we stayed there, and thought the location was great. Everything is in close proximity in general, as has been said here. We never felt like anything was far away, and yet it was still quiet. You really can't go wrong anywhere.
