November was my first time staying at POFQ. I absolutely loved it!!! The resort is tiny, the food is delicious (and you get a lot for a QS meal -- the po'boys are HUGE!). We stayed in building number three on the first floor facing the parking lot--since there are no balconies to sit on, I don't see why facing the water or pool would need to be paid for. Plus, facing the parking lot made it great for when we took an Uber back from the Boardwalk or Polynesian--it literally pulled up to our door. The walk to the bus was about 2.5 minutes. The walk for food, about 2 minutes. The walk to the game room and gift shop, about 1.5 mins. The walk to the pool and pool bar, about 2 mins. They have a nice, big laundry center right by the pool. It was so nice for us and for families. A lot of guests seemed to be doing laundry (like us) and sitting at the pool bar/swimming. It was incredibly convenient.
The grounds are really beautiful, from the edging and gardens to the water fountains. I have stayed at almost all of the deluxe hotels, and would rank this one up there with beauty (plus the price is unbeatable). Also, at night they have horse and carriage rides the actually go down the main road there. It's really neat to hear the click-clack of their hooves on the brick walkway. You truly feel as though you are in New Orleans. Also, the jazz music they play, and the other atmospherical elements (such as the street signs and the lobby decorations) envelop you in a whole other world.
The greeter at the door (seemed to be rotated between 2-3 men) gave out beads, doubloons, and doubloon beads every day as you walk in/out of the door on the way to the bus. It's a fun takeaway for anyone. Everyone there was so nice, especially the people in the gift shop. The environment is extremely relaxed, quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend it!
The one super nice thing is that we had our own bus service. Only once did we have to loop around to the Riverside (I think it was when going to the AK). But we were picked up first and always had a seat. The only downfall is that the POFQ bus stop outside of the theme parks is somewhat at the end (for example at the MK it was the last stop at the end of the second row).
Being November, we did have issues with the changing weather and room temperature. Some times we needed air on, some times heat. But that has nothing to do with the hotel, but rather atmospherical conditions. Many various rooms would prop open the door to the room to let in some air (without having to put on the air conditioning).
