A very reliable source just informed me that Port Orleans French Quarter will in fact resume operation on May 31, 2002

Port Orleans Comes Back To Life!
According to local news report based on strong guest demand, Port Orleans French Quarter has begun allowing guests to book rooms for arrivals on or after May 31, 2002. Disney will have the resort reopened and at full steam at that time with all resort facilities and amenities open. Another pleasant surprise is that the food court has apparently been rehabbed during the resorts "time off".
