POR Campfire Question:

Does anybody know if they sale Marshmallows and have sticks for the kids to roast them or should we bring our own. I guess a better question is do they even allow to roast marshmallows? Thanks

Just read a forum post over on portorleans.org about the campfire. Looks like there is one at PORS and one at POFQ. Evidently one or the other was refurbished recently. The comment made by Andre the Admin over there said they didn't sell marshmallows they gave them to you. You may want to check there.

Yep they give them out for free or you can purchase the chocolate and graham crackers to make smores. And they do have one at both PORS and FQ. We passed by the FQ one when we were on the boat to DtD

It is free - no chocolate though. It was charming over a firepit with music and conversation. Perfect for a pool break.

I had no idea they did this there. We're going in May, so this will be a nice perk! We usually take a few days to just hang at the pool & resort, and this is a perfect activity for those days.

They do the same thing at AKL while you are watching the animals on the savanna with night vision goggles! Cool .. er, hot ..

We stayed at POFQ Xmas of 2012 and I could of swore they gave us chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows for free at least one night. I know I had just marshmallows a few nights though. Maybe I just dug into another families bag (right next to the CM) and they were so appalled by it they didnt say anything to me lol?

I was there on Sunday, hours are from 5 to 6 pm till time changes in the spring.

yeah we just got back from our trip and didn't get a chance to enjoy the resort at all. We won't be back for 2 years but we need to add a extra day to our trip so we can enjoy the resort. We missed out on the pool which it was really cool the day we were there anyway, the bikes, the boats, campfire, movie, etc....
