POP mug colours

Hi All. I posted this question in a thread that got locked, but I really want to know if anyone can help me. I'm going to be at POP three weeks from today :sohappy: with DH and our niece and nephew. We will be getting a refillable mug each and would like to know what the design is, but more importantly, are there four or more different coloured tops? It would be more convenient if that were true and we could each have a different colour to tell whose mug is whose. We'll be there for 10 days so there's no chance that we won't get our money's worth during that time.

If I recall correctly, all the mugs have the same colour handle and lid. I think they change all of them at the same time so you can't continually return to the same resort with mugs from a previous visit [you're only supposed to use them for one trip - which is usually the moral issue that gets threads locked].

Take a Sharpie and write initials or names on the bottoms and/or lids to distinguish whose is whose.

I was there in July and they sold different colors. They could very possibly have had 4 different colors. I know they had red, orange, blue and maybe green.
i was there in march and there was no green when we went it is my sons fav color so we would have if we could have. i think there is just three colors but i think you may e able to see a picture of them on allearsnet.com. they do have different styles so you could get same color diff. style and still be OK.

The definitely have four different colors. Keep in mind that Disney really thinks things through. They know that mom and dad want to bring Billy and Suzie to the parks and be able to figure out whose cup is whose. :D

EDIT: In regards to the design itself... this past year it has been a richly-colored Tie-Dye design, with the POP logo on it and several different decade-specific catch phrases on it ("groovy," "neat," etc). In 2004, it was a pale-colored design with the POP logo and different icons on it (a 60s flower, a rubick's cube, etc). I think the designs change over the summer (and I haven't been since January), so I don't know what this year's design is like.

We just returned this past week from a nine-day stay at Pop Century, and I can tell you how we've handled the refillable-mug colors in the past.

First, I noticed that they were selling only blue, orange and red-tops. But a very simple way to handle multiple parties is to simply switch the tops on the mugs.

For instance for four people, buy two orange and two blue, and switch the tops on two of them. You'll now have one solid blue, one solid orange, and one blue-handled with an orange top, and one orange-handled with a blue-top.

It's worked like a charm!

As a side note, it still bugs me to watch people using mugs from other resorts. But my all-time favorite was watching a woman trying to refill 20-oz Coke bottles at the beverage station. It was running all down her hands and elbows. Talk about cheap!

We were just at Pop in July and they had 3 different colors, red, blue and orange. They also had 2 different style mugs. One was the regular mug and the other was smaller at the bottom to fit into a cupholder. This would make it possible to have 6 different refillable mugs.

We were there in May, and I'm quite sure there were 3 different colors. We swithced the tops around though so everyone's was different.

I try not to get into the refillable mug fray, but that's a completely different subject since they didn't even buy the mug to begin with. I've seen people try to refill 20oz bottles and even Two Liters! And what's extra gross is the guy who refilled the 20oz had just finished off his previous drink (drinking right from the bottle), then crammed the top of the bottle to the base of the dispenser nozzle so none would leak out when he was refilling. :hurl:

Some people should be taken out to the street and be pecked to death by a duck.

That is exactly why I don't drink fountain soda. That and all the people that inexplicably touch the spout to make sure its lined up with the cup before dispensing. Gross, gross gross!

That said, I have a blue, a purple and an orange Pop mug in my cupboard (no, not for re-using, for souvenires :p ). I'm hoping all the coffee and cocoa we put in them wasn't too contaminated!

Thanks. It seems that I will be able to find four different combinations of mugs. I had a fear that I would have to bring some different coloured tops from my various All-Star mugs to make them look individual. No worries now.

One more question. Do the two sizes of mugs hold very much different volumes?

I just went out to the kitchen and did a volume comparison.

And I can confirm that the tall one is quieter....... (Sorry, bad joke...)

The shorter, wider one that I have from Music a number fo years back held 13 oz., the taller, skinny "car cupholder friendly" one held 15oz. These were both totally filled up to the top of the usable space with the lid on.

Hey, Rob, thanks for the info (not necessarily the joke, though;) ). I remember seeing the taller mugs but I thought that they would have held less, not more liquid. This changes my plan a bit. Tall mugs for everyone! Only 19 more days until I get to test this out for myself:sohappy: .
