We stayed at Pop on my first trip and on our trip in 2011. My daughter godly recalls it as the hotel she puked in. :) We like it for what it is and really like the food court. My question is has much changed at Pop since 2011. We never had problems with bus service or anything really.

I stayed there for the first time a month ago, so I can't say whether or not it has changed, but we liked it a lot. I think the food court menu may be a little different now, as I heard it had recently changed, but we enjoyed it and had no problems finding plenty of options for breakfast and late night snacks :) Buses were great! We never waited more than about ten minutes for a bus, and most of the time there would be one out there when we walked out from the food court.

Love this hotel, have stayed at nearly every single on site property from Value to Deluxe and honestly, POP is one of my favorites - for the reason you mentioned already, you like it for what it is - cheap accommodations that still scream disney!

Call me crazy but I honestly prefer this hotel over Deluxe resorts. Sure the deluxe are nicer, but I always have that uneasy "I just paid 400+ a night for a hotel on par (aesthetically and amenity wise) with a mainline Hilton or Hyatt, am I nuts".

I find POP whimsical and FUN and VERY disney, which is honesty how I like to feel when I am in Disney World. Add that to a food court that is easy to navigate and quick and easy to grab and go, GREAT bus service, and rooms that are never very far from the central area and I am sold. Plus I like the ability to jump on either AOA or POP busses (whichever show up first) when I want to get back to the room quickly. The only thing I can decisively say that is of matter to me is the downgraded mattresses in the Values - but I am usually so tired that I don't notice after that first night.

My son has the same memory of POP as your daughter :) I love POP but haven't stayed there since 2007 :( We have tried POR and ASSports. The next trip will be POP though

I feel about Sports the same way most people feel about POP. It feels like home. We have stayed at POP, Music, Poly, Contemporary, FW and sports holds some great family memories. It is not about bus service, food courts, price, not to me anyway. No puking, thank goodness, but just fun.

I understand completely. It's just the place that represents home the most. My husband said the suite we were upgraded to at CR was great but why spend so much when we had some awesome trips at POP.

So out of all the value resorts you would select this one? I was thinking of doing two trips in a value resort instead of one in a deluxe. The only thing that worried me was the bus waits/time it took to get to the parks.

Bus times at Pop and AoA are pretty much the best on property. They each have their own dedicated routes, and they seem to be very efficiently ran. When I was there a month ago, we never waited more than ten minutes for a bus... and like I said before, most days there was already a bus there that we were able to hop on at just the right time. I wouldn't bank on that happening, but it did happen to us several times.

I was gonna say the same thing. We stayed at Contemporary in September thanks to a pin discount offer and really the wait times for monorail were no better than the bus at Pop.

Pop Century is fantastic.. I've stayed at moderates and would choose pop over any moderate every time. It has a better arcade, better walk times to the food court/store/busses, and the new food court menu is fantastic. Add in a upbeat happy retro disney vibe and the fact that now your in walking distance to the art of animation resort to give you more to do/explore at night makes this my fav resort most trips considering the value. Once in awhile i'll splurge for Wilderness Lodge for a few days but usually combo that with Pop on long trips.

We stayed here in 2011 also and had a great time. It was our first time at Disney and we had no complaints (other than no fridges at that time!)

Pop is my FAVORITE hotel on property for all of the reasons listed above. I think the busses are more frequent and efficient than any of the other hotels I've stayed at, including at the deluxes. The walk from the great hall to any of the buildings is no more than 5 minutes so each building is in a great location. The theme is great and the rooms are always clean. I don't see the point in spending a great deal of money on a room since I am at the parks for most of my waking hours, it's just a place to sleep and shower for me.
