POP Century ????

over the past 5/6 years we have experienced the opening of various wdw area resorts & attractions:

Animal Kingdom
All Star Movies
Universal Islands Of Adventure
Kraken - Sea World
Rock n Roller Coaster - MGM Studios
Halloween Horror Nights - Universal Islands Of Adventure

we really want to stay in the new pop century resort in its opening year. i know some people don't like the look of it, but if it's new and it's disney, we're there dude.

we have usually booked our next trip by now but seem to be hanging on for any news.

is it gonna ever happed (befor sept 2003)

I was wondering the same thing myself!! When is the Pop Century opening??? Does anyone know anything about it? I thought I read somewhere it had a lot of rooms!?

Pop Century WILL open in 2003. My guess is that it will open for the Summer season. As it stands right now, Phase I of the resort is 95% complete... it's just a matter of staffing, and setting up some last minute details. If you wander over to www.disneypix.com you can check out some aerial shots of the resort.


One thing I just noticed while looking at the pictures... it appears as if the Bus Stops are slightly covered... They're just like the All-Stars, except, the covering extends closer to the bus stop itself.

I am planning a trip to Disney in 2004 and I always want to stay at a different resort. Pop Century is my first choice if it is open, it looks veyr neat. I love the larger then life stuff at the Value resorts. All Star Movies was great. If Pop Century is not open then I am going to have to go up to a moderate resort and go to Coronado. I hope it is true that Pop Century is opening this summer!:sohappy:

I just looked at those ariel pix of the Pop Century and it looks like they are building another value resort across the water! Any ideas about that one ? Anyone heard anything?'

Also isn't there supposed to be a Monopoly game board courtyard, I didn't even see where they could put one.

That would be Phase II. As you can tell, it's no where near completion. Phase II is supposed to represent the earlier part of the century.
