Pop Century Room Question

My aunt, uncle, and cousins are hoping to go to Disney for the first time with 5 in the family and was wondering if 5 can fit in a room there. I looked and it says party size exceeds the room size when you try to book. Would you be able to fit 3 in one bed and 2 in another? The kids are younger aged? Or would they let you do that? Would they have to book a different resort for it to work? Thanks for any help!

POP occupancy is 4 with a child under 3 in a crib. If the youngest is 3 or older, they would need to get 2 rooms at POP. Another option is POR, Alligator Bayou rooms accommodate 5.

POP is tight with 4, and I think 5 would really be rough if you were able to do it. I did a huge family trip years ago (14 of us) and the rooms with 4, with luggage and such, really do get crowded. I would say go with two rooms, or maybe a suite at AoA?

Being a value resort, almost all rooms are two double beds. I don't think cramming 3 people in a double bed sounds like much fun and probably exceeds the fire code for the room size. An Art of Animation family suite would be much more comfortable. I suggest a family suite over adjoining standard rooms.

When I went a few weeks ago, we had 5 people in a room but it was in a Family Suite at the All Star Music. The room had one queen (or king) sized bed, a sofa bed which could have easily slept two but only one person slept there, and then two single cots that folded into a chair and an ottoman when they were not being used as beds.

Fitting 4 people into a value room is already a tight squeeze. And like everyone else already said, they only allow a 5th person if said 5th person is a 3 year old or younger. I would look into POR if the 5th is a young child. If older I would suggest trying AoA.

Could you fit 3 kids in a bed.. Most likely.. Will disney allow this? No, if the mad occupancy is 4, that's what it is.

I would explore other options, 2 rooms, a family suite or a room at riverside that sleeps 5..

Rooms are double beds. We have four but flew my SIL down for a couple days of our trip. I put a twin air mattress on the floor and was fine. We don't use our room much. For us it's pretty much a place to sleep, clean up changes clothes, etc. So we had 3 adults, 2 kids, and giant double stroller in there.

...which, FYI, was against Disney policy and fire codes (which are not set by Disney). Had you been caught, they most likely would have made you pay for a second room or ask you to leave the hotel. They take fire codes very seriously.

How old are the kids? We were supposed to be at PORS last year...but thankfully with a plumbing issue they moved us to AoA. PORS rooms are small, especially with the flip down bed...no more trundle beds. So that new flip down bed takes out drawer space...down to three. In my opinion they would be happier with two value rooms or a cabin if the kids are older. My girls are small (5') and could have slept on the trundle bed but the space in the room was tight. Two value rooms would be cheaper than a suite.

Yeah I know it's against policy, however our youngest was under 3 at the time. Easier to climb over an air mattress than a crib in the event of a fire. It was just for two nights too, not our entire trip. Not sure how they would tell anyway unless they walked in on us while we were sleeping.

Ah. That bit of info was missing from your previous post.
