Disneytouristblog shows a pic of how the new flooring and adding of a light blue color to the wall gives it a bit more color to the room

Not sure I am crazy about the floor design, but the color does add to an otherwise plain room.

Room refurbishments still under way in the 50's Section. They're now working on Building 3.

They seem to have slowed down a fair bit. I was in building 2 in May and they did practically the entire ground floor of building 1 in the week we were there and started on building 2 the day we were checking out.

Checked in today and got one of the refurbished rooms. I definitely think it's a big improvement. I like the floor decoration and hope they implement similar things resorts places (it's not the same texture as the normal floor, but hard so clearly made with cleaning in mind). It really goes a long way to make the room feel less bland.

Imagineering was in the lobby a few months ago poking around, seemingly because they intend to redo the lobby at some point. It was late March I'm pretty sure... So even after this the property isn't done renovations, though it's more of a long-term thing I bet.
