Pop Century and the other value resorts only allow 4 + infant in rooms. We have a trip scheduled and would like to invite a neice which would mean 5 + infant. has anyone tried this and what happens if you "get caught" i am not trying to "get away with anything" we just thought it would be a nice idea to bring our neice along. please do flame me with the morals of showing my kids its okay to break the rules. i am sure I am not the first person that has attempted this.

Well I think where you would have the problem is if you were wanting to take advantage of the extra magic hours. You would probably not be able to get a resort id for her if you "snuck" her in therefore only four of you would have resort id's and be able to use the extra magic hours. However, if this would not be an interest of yours then you would probably be able to pull it off, besides the fact that it would be extremely cramped. I do not believe that Disney would allow it if you tried to be upfront with them, because of the fact that they do set the limitation of the occupancy of the rooms and charge extra for more than two adults and so on. I have not had a personal experience with this situation though, so maybe somebody on here has and can give you more help. By the way, in my eyes there is nothing morally wrong with trying to save money and take someone to Disney World. ;)

I have heard that Mousekeeping is trained to detect signs of extra guests...and I have also heard that if detected, you will be asked to pay for another room, or moved to another resort to accommodate you or asked to leave.

Mind you....I have not seen this happen, but this is what I've heard is the procedure.

It's a safety issue...fire codes. If something happened and someone died because of stuffing too many into a room, Disney would be in big trouble.

Where are you going to put everyone?

Will there be 3 kids in one bed?

Those rooms are pretty small, and I cannot imagine 4 people, let alone 6, being comfortable.

Looking at this from a mere practicality standpoint, there are several issues to be dealt with here...

First, as mentioned, is the cramping. Believe me when I say that these are small rooms. You're talking about six people crammed into a space that is really only comfortable for two and tolerable for 3-4. Then there's the whole bathroom issue.

Also, as mentioned above, there is the extra magic hour issue. Especially in the evening, when you have to have your room keycard actually scanned into a handheld PDA/computer to verify that you're staying on property. When they scan that key, it takes it "out of commission" for further EMH use that night, and you can't get another bracelet with it. So that's also a no-go.

Just out of sheer practicality, a better bet might be to check on those family-style suites they've been testing at All-Star Resorts. That might be a bit cheaper than two adjoining rooms.

Not sure -- I only know what little I've read on either allears or mouseplanet (can't remember which). I'll do a little digging and see if I can find out.

OK -- can't find much more other than "they're testing the concept." So.... maybe you could just call and mention that you "heard something about family suites at All Star Resort" and wondered if they were available for booking? If they are and the price is agreeable, then you could go into "well, I just found out we have another person coming with us/etc."

Ok, if you insist. Its wrong and you should not do it.....

To be honest, there simply isn't room in a Value Resort room for more than 4 people. There isn't anywhere to put a rollaway bed (if they even offer them). I think you're going to be stretching the room to it's limits with 4 plus an infant.

If you get caught, you'll most likely have to pay for another room, or they could ask you to leave (extreme, I know, but it could be within their right to do so).

Just have uncle Orville sleep in the bathtub and you'll have plenty of room.

There's no privacy around here.
LOL! Good one Woody!

Seriously, I'm sure your intentions are good, but the simple fact is that you, like many others before you, are trying to beat the system. We might not like the fact that the value resorts have limited capacity, but there are good reasons for this. If you really want to have that many people with you, then your choices are simple: either rent 2 rooms, move up to a moderate, a DVC, or a Wilderness cabin. Other than that you might want to consider staying off-property.

that is just what i was thinking i have two kids witch means 3 people in a room now i love the value resorst but i couldn't imagine sleeping more than two to a bed. with just us its just enough room. i think you'd be better off at a moderate resort or getting two rooms. you'll drive each other nuts. one thing you need to have while at disney is some sleep!:snore:
