Staying at Pop Century, fire alarm just went off for 15 minutes before being turned off. False alarm apparently. Everyone had to evacuate. No cast members anywhere for explanation. Any chance I can ask for compensation? Was trying to rest well for early entry.

I get that it’s annoying. But a fire alarm goes off for a reason, it may not have been an actual fire but there was a reason - someone smoking, something overheating.

Would you rather they didn’t use them at all? Would you have felt better if it had been an actual fire with flames?

By all means ask in the morning, or evening, whether they can tell you why it went off. But wanting compensation seems a bit over the top to me.

Or some stupid punk pulled it 'cause they thought it was funny...

It happens. I cant count the number of false alarms that have awakened me up when Ive stayed in hotels. One was back to back alarms set off by high schoolers who had just graduated and were partying in the hotel. The Mgt suspected they were the ones who pulled them and the police were called after the second one. Investigated and that was the end of their stay.

Compensation maybe not, but it doesn’t hurt to give them feedback about the lack of communication over what was happening, though at 3am there would be limited staff and they probably have a list of things they need to do during a fire alarm before they have time to start taking guest questions

Why would you want compensation for something because it woke you up in the middle of the night? That's more of an inconvenience than money worthy.

If the alarm is going off at 3am and people are evacuating, the CM's probably dont know at that point whats causing the alarm. They are as much in the dark as the guests. Until they get the all clear from the fire dept, they are unable to communicate to anyone that it is a false alarm

At 3am hotels have minimal staffing ( ie front desk, security ), it is not surprising if no cast member briefed the guests on what is going on. Pop Century is a huge complex with multiple buildings.

Totally agree

Compensation? LOL I'd say they compensated you well by having a functioning fire alarm that would allow you to keep on going should there have actually been a fire. In return you got to keep going to the parks...
