Pool hours?

We just came back from a trip in February and were surprised the main pool with hot tub and bar at Riverside all closed at 10pm. Is this pretty much the norm property wide? We were hoping to have a drink and go in the hot tub each night but we only made it on time once.

That’s about right. In the past, when staffing wasn’t an issue, I believe some pools were open till midnight. We’ve been visiting POFQ for quite a few years, and the pool always closed at 10. But I think the hot tub area was open past that, since it’s away from the main pool area and not guarded.

Is this true of all pools? I thought the feature pools had specific closing times but that the quiet pools were generally open at all hours.

The previous posts were talking about the main pools. Some quiet pools may be open all hours, although at some point I think the pool staff come and clean etc. So you may have to vacate the pool and deck.

Back in the day resort pools were open 24/7 but now pools are gated and locked at closing times.

Thanks all! We are staying at Saratoga Springs next trip and want to make sure we fit more pool time in!

Value Resorts close and lock all pools overnight, while Mods and Deluxe close and lock feature pools overnight. Most quiet pools at Mods and Deluxe are open at all hours, especially the ones that are more tucked away.

Swan Dolphin does not even have fencing around their pools, so they are open 24/7. Although the waterslide does turn off.

Just back from the Polynesian and made a point to look at the hours yesterday. It was from 10am-11pm for the main pool. They do extend a little more in the summer or busy times I find.
Honestly surprised they are not open earlier than 10 a.m.

Pre 9/11 and post 9/11. Hanging out at the massive Mayan Pyramid pool with the 20 person hot tub was glorious at Coronado.
They've been gating off pools long before that though. Many of the quiet pools were not, but main pools had been at least at deluxe for a while.

It wasn't security but gates with locks. Some pools have been locked off for years. Polynesian was locked off in 2015 I know for sure. BLT for years too. SAB, I cannot even think when it wasn't - maybe 2000 when we were allowed to hop when Polynesian was closed?
I'm referring to Coronado Main Pool , Maya Pyramid with the water slide. The slide was locked at night BTW not the pool or party hot tub.

Gates and fences appeared a while back when someone failed to watch their child and an incident happened at a pool late in the evening -- so all must suffer for some parent not being a parent.
