Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere...
Staying at Contemporary this week and came to the pool today. Workers are busy installing gates around pool. No opinions here (I can see more pros than cons), just thought I would share.

I'm sure decreased pool hopping is a happy result of it, but, it is to prevent toddlers from wandering away from their attentive parents and falling into the pool. Lawsuits a plenty. I don't know the laws in Florida, but, in a lot of places fences around pool areas are absolutely required.

This is more about pool safety than stopping pool hopping. It started after the young boy drown in a pool a couple of years ago later in the day when no lifeguard was working. Shortly after that they began to install fences around every pool on property to prevent a child from getting to the pool when it's not attended for safety. Stopping pool hopping or otherwise is just a side benefit.

They've been doing this at all of the resorts for some time now. Trying to reduce pool hopping by requiring a Magic Band to scan into the pool area.

Could be but we really enjoy the perk of pool hopping at allowed DVC resorts for DVC members when we stay.
