Maybe it's a cultural thing... I was reading a DVDToons review on the new collection "Timeless Tales", which puts together 4 shorts and is directed towards kids or those who'd want some of the classic shorts but are not willing to shell out for the Treasures collection. This collection is already on the 6th or 7th volume down here, it's called "Disney Fables". Anyways, wraping up, the reviewer said this:
So my question is this: why? Those of you who have kids and own the Treasure sets, your kids can only watch those shorts if a parent is around? I understand some shorts have what some may call "controversial content", but is it really that bad? I mean, being a kid, I don't think I'd start drinking or smoking just because I saw Mickey doing it in an old black & white cartoon.
In fact, I remember watching Pecos Bill and all sort of cartoons that today are considered "strong" when I was a kid, and my parents never thought twice about it. As I've mentioned before, we even have "Song of the South" on TV every now and then, while it haven't been shown in the US in years. And our society was as slave-driven as any other back in the day.

I probably wouldn want my 4-year-old nephew playing with my Treasure sets, but I wouldn think twice before handing him this set.
