Polynesian Standard View Reservation

Hey All,

I just got the email I am confirmed buying points for a reservation at the Polynesian for September. I am beyond excited. My son and I went last year and we stayed at the the Wilderness Lodge for 4 nights. This year we are staying a week for his 5th Birthday. Comparing the rates on the Disney site it's like half off.

Couple of questions for you pros. How does this differ from booking directly? Do I still get dining reservations/fast passes at 60 days out and magic bands? Also should I request a certain longhouse, floor, etc?

Guess I need to think about how I spread out the days. Last time we spent the majority of time in Magic Kingdom but went to Animal Kingdom for about a half day and Epcot for a few hours one evening for dinner at the Garden Cafe (think that's what it was called) and he did the Turtle Talk with Crush and the Nemo ride. The living with the land ride was closed but it looked pretty neat.

I just rented points as well for Poly in July. You'll still be able to make dining reservations 180 days inn advance but fast pass will only be 30 days. 60 days are for guests who booked a vacation package (resorts & tickets)

I don't buy tickets until I get there and I have been able to make my FP bookings 60 days out on just my resort reservation alone.

This is not correct. 60 days is for anyone staying at a Disney hotel, this includes DVC. Get the reservation number from the person you rented points from and put that into your reservations on the My Disney Experience.

This isn't true at all. 60 days is for resort guests not just package guests. DVC accommodations are under that umbrella.

And yes you will get Magic Bands as well. DVC works the same whether booked through Disney or renting points. Once you enter your reservation in MDE you will be able to customize your bands. Then they will be sent out to you 23-30 days out from your reservation. As others noted you can do your dining reservations 180+ 10 (for your whole trip at 180 days out) and FP's at 60 days out. Only difference from renting points instead of booking direct, is you won't get daily mousekeeping it's on the every 4th day schedule being points were used to book the room.
