I personally prefer the Grand, but my husband is in love with the POLY! I guess we were greeted with such grace and dignity, and also were able to meet Mr. Richard ( the 90 year old greeter). I liked the restaurants and the open air better. Although my boys liked the POLY pool better! I did enjoy watching Wishes from the pool at the POLY, but sadly did not like the gates around it!:( We just had a not so good check in experience at the POLY. Most all rooms were booked up, and the room I requested was not available ( she did check, but she seemed so "cold"). We ended up with a room pretty far from the GC House ( lobby) ( Mo'orea -with no view) and they had 2 power outages! We experienced the generators there ( apparently had a fire recently).
We actually paid more for the POLY, so I guess I just liked the lobby and the cast members a bit better at the Grand, as they seemed to bend over backwards to make your experience special.
Here is a picture of our view.

Disney Springs is beautiful, but the shopping experience is just a high end outlet mall. We ate at D-Luxe Burger, and it was delicious! We all preferred the classic cheeseburger. The fries were just OK. We also went to the Sprinkles ATM, and got 3 cookies, but there was no receipt. Inside was packed because it was so hot!

Yes, lots of pricey stuff at DS. I experienced sticker shock in several stores, especially Tommy Bahama and Kate Spade. Guess I am not a designer prices kinda guy. We went to DS several times during our trip a few weeks ago, and the line for the Sprinkles was just too long for me, so we did not try it. We stood in line for cupcakes once at DC Cupcakes, but it was to get some for a niece of ours. Would not stand in line just for me.

Nice report so far. I haven't stayed at the Poly since I was about 10 years old and that was many, many moons ago. I would love to stay there again, and it is my husband's bucket list resort. Too bad you got such a chilly reception there.
I am giving her the benefit of the doubt. I should have asked how long she had been working at the Polynesian, and perhaps to speak to another cast member, but I was at the POLY, so I "let it go"... no pun intended.;)
