Polynesian Concierge

My family and I are staying at the Polynesian in May, 2004 for 7 days. We have a concierge lagoon view. Here's my concern: I really want a balcony and a non-smoking room. The concierge service is in the Hawaii longhouse. However, I have learned that there are no balconies on the second floor of that longhouse and that the third floor is smoking optional.

At $560 a night, I think I have the right to be picky. I know there are no guarantees with respect to room requests. However, based on this information, it seems as though there is no way to get what I want. If that's true, I'm inclined to just do a lagoon view without the concierge.

Does my information sound right? If so, any suggestions?

Put in the request for the non smoking room and a balcony. Disney really tries to honor all requests. If you need any help, please let me know.

I stayed in a Smiking optional room once, and I wouldn't have known it was smoking if i didn't read it before hand. Housekeeping is wonderful at getting any smoke smells out of the room before the next guest gets in to the room.

You have made an excellent point! Florida law now bans smoking in restaurants, shops, waiting areas and rest rooms. It would be a very interesting legal case to see what happens if a person requested a non-smoking room but was given a smoking room instead.
