POLY with a 2 year old...

We just upgraded our trip in May from our beloved POFQ to the POLY. I've always dreamed of staying in a monorail resort, and we were able to swing it because of the room discounts. I was a little apprehensive about switching too, because we love the FQ so much, but I don't know if this opportunity will present itself again. We're going for it.

For all you monorail resort vets, does staying on the monorail actually make it easier with a small child (in this case a 2 year old?) What are some tips for staying at POLY with said 2 year old? Thanks guys!

Yes!! I haven't stayed at the Polynesian since before kids- but I have been at the Contemporary and Grand Floridian the past few years at ages 10 months, almost 2, and almost 3. If you have a stroller and a sleeping little one, it's SO nice not to have to fold up everything and balance on a bus (from MK and Epcot).

As a general tip: mine hasn't liked being in a stroller since before he was 2- but we still rent one from Kingdom Strollers. We don't use it for a good portion of the day (just let him walk and explore), but it's nice to have for naptime! That way he can fall asleep in it and we don't *have* to go back to the room. We use that time to walk around and people watch and just enjoy the atmosphere. If we're at Epcot or DHS, maybe we take a walk to explore the resorts and grab a snack. If we're at MK- it's nice to have the option to quickly go back to our room if needed, without having to wake him up!

There is nothing quite as comforting as getting off the monorail after a day at The MK or Epcot, and being home....no long walk to the room....just a walk off the monorail. The convenience cannot be overstated. I loved staying at both the Poly and The CR with small children. Enjoy your stay and you may find that you will never go back to a moderate. My favorite has always been the CR.....nothing else quite measures up in my opinion. :cat:

We're going to be at the POLY in May with our 3 yo and our 10 month old. We are operating under the same premise. I have stayed at the Contemp and Floridian before with my nieces and it seemed to help. Our other option was Kidani Village villa so that grandparents could be "in-house" to take care of kids. Decided on the POLY.

My wife and I had done the moderates in the past, just us, and it was obviously a great deal. But we've come along way in life, we deserve it. Well, I guess mainly we deserve our children not to drive us crazy.
