My wife and I are arriving at Walt Disney World this Saturday (June 16th) with our 2 daughters (5 and 3). This is our first trip to WDW. We are staying in the club level at the Poly. Could someone give us advice about whether to request a Ground or Balcony floor room? We are not sure which will be better for our family (considering we have 2 young kids). Thank you.

We have stayed at the Hawaii building before. Favorite spot in all of WDW. With that said, we like the 3rd floor. Better view in our opinion. Make sure not to get 2nd floor. There is no balcony. Are you getting a theme park view?

We will be there, same spot starting 7/30

We’ve stayed CL twice at The Poly. Once was Garden View without a balcony (2nd floor). We we’re highly disappointed. The second time was Lagoon View in which we were ground level. We were all pleasantly surprised. We had ducks that stopped by to visit us daily 😊 We are are staying 7/24-29 and are in Garden View to save money. Fingers crossed we are either on the third or ground floor.
Enjoy! It’s our favorite!!!!

We have had rooms on each floor and it really depends on the longhouse you stay in with the exception being the 2nd floor. You definitely never want that in my opinion. Since you are staying CL I would want the balcony of the 3rd floor. I think you will appreciate the view much more. If you were staying in one of the longhouses near the pool I would say ground floor (although it can be noisy if you have littles that need a nap).

If you have a theme park view then I’m fairly certain that you will have a 3rd floor room.. if Lagoon View then you could be 1st or 2nd, and obviously request first.
If ‘garden View’ then it’s all personal preference.

3rd floor patios are my favorite because you can relax and eat on the patio and just look over whatever it is your view may be and be pretty removed from whatever is below. 1st floor is my 2nd choice since you can leave the room easily if someone is staying put. And like others said, ducks can come by and visit and chat up a storm. Though I don't like that in 1st floor rooms your privacy is pretty much zero if you are on the patio or near the window, more so at night with the room lights on.

The newer buildings have patios on all 3 floors, but unfortunately all the new buildings are DVC wings now (Booooo!). I have only stayed on a 2nd floor once at the Poly, my 1st trip, and did not like it at all. I'll only do 3rd or 1st floor now.

I also always like to walk up and down the stairs at the Poly too (extra fun and more steps/exercise), so that makes the 3rd floors more appealing to me as well.

I requested the top floor for our stay at the poly and we were fortunate enough to get one. My reasoning is that we'd not have anyone above us clomping around when we're trying to rest. I don't know what options you have with club level buildings but that's my $.02

We've been on the 1st floor quite a few times at the Polynesian (with our concierge stay too) and I kind of like the ability to sit and see ducks and such. It's never been really noisy either from above. Upper floors feel more private. The lounge is on the 2nd floor (which I wouldn't want for the no full sized balconies) and the desk itself is on the 1st floor. So either way you'll have to go up or down to get to the lounge.

Have stayed in most of the Poly buildings and on each floor. Just say no to any 2nd floor room as there is no balcony. I would recommend the 1st floor unless you are facing the Lagoon and Magic Kingdom then obviously go 3rd floor.
