...I have seen people post pics of a character show of the luao and that made me confused. Because I went a year ago and it was a new show but there were no characters.

When I went it was about a Girl returning to Hawaii after living in California for some time for I think College. She returns and her family explores the many customs of Polynesia before going to the actual traditional Luao.

However, I saw one with mickey and stuff which was confusing....

And I know the original show was all serious and was just a luao....so I am now confused. Can someone clear up on this?

Maybe you saw pictures of Mickey at the character breakfast at the Poly. I don't think there are any characters at the Luau, but I could be wrong.

I've been to the luau once, in 1992. There were two choices. An early show with characters that was more for kids & a later (more serious) show geared to the adults. Not sure when they stopped the Character one.

The luau was great...at least in the early 70's! The only problem they had was dealing with the electrical water parade. Once we started seeing the characters and whatnot all lit up and floating across the water, most of the kids (myself included) couldn't have cared less about the luau.

Just thought I would share that!
