POFQ riverview vs standard

Currently have a Riverview room booked because that was all that was initially available. Periodically standard rooms show up. The price difference has been negligible (like $8)

Wondering if I should switch to a regular room should the opportunity arise. It’s a solo trip, so I don’t care about view or walking distance, etc. Is savings $8 worth the hassle? (Although that frees up an additional $8 of beignet money ;) )

Is there any reason other than the cost to justify switching? Are the boat noises loud, or is the walk excessive etc? I’ve only visited POFQ, but haven’t stayed there before.

Thanks.

River view is usually a lot more than an $8 premium over standard view. Stay.

Standard rooms have a view of the parking lot so if that doesn't bother you save yourself a few bucks. Noise wise I would guess the boats would not make any more noise than cars coming and going. River view is $16 more than standard. We are going with pool view in May

We love staying at POFQ. The resort layout is such that theres no real extended walking distances from even the further buildings. If you drive, where you park may be a bit of a walk to your bldg. Ive stayed in a riverview room before and had no noise problem from the boats on the river. I had more noise issues when I was situated in a room nearer the pool. How much are you going to be enjoying the view that its worth the extra money??? Save your money for something extra. When we book Im looking for a closer bldg to the food court and bus stop for the convenience, usually trying for bldg 4..

Still, not necessarily.

Late January during value season on a weekday? $20
Easter? $17
Late September during fall season on a Saturday? $19

Just cause it's a good deal doesn't mean you do it. If your driving...go standard, if you like the pool, your better with riverview more a chance you will be closer to the central stuff

Your view at POFQ has almost nothing to do with how close you are to things in terms of actual walking. The resort is tiny. River view is better because it has a view of the river (imagine that), not because of where the rooms are located."

Perhaps I should clarify- the $8 difference is between the price I originally booked the riverview for and the current price of a standard. It is the total (pretax) difference for my entire stay.

The current difference between the two views is ~$40/day for my days and standard view seems to only be sporadically an option.

Still on the fence at this point. I will probably just hang on to it for now and see if anything significantly cheaper comes up later.

I’m still months out so this could all be moot depending on any future discounts announced etc.

Thank you all for your input. :)

Standard and have more beignet money. If theres a balcony then a view matters more IMO. But when it’s just the veiw when you leave the room, standard is just fine unless you plan on sitting outside your room a lot. But then again I don’t care if I see a parking lot when I leave my my room since you see it for seconds and then you are looking at the resort.

I've done River view once before and it was very pretty. However after doing standard view 3 times now... I wouldn't pay the difference. If you check touring plans room finder, you'll see lots of standard views have garden views. And every single standard room I've had, had views of lush trees.
