POFQ or Coronado

I'm trying to pick a moderate to stay at for two nights and two MK heavy days after our next Disney cruise. I've stayed at both and have enjoyed both. I'm inclined to lean towards Coronado, but POFQ does have its charm. Maybe someone can sway me one way or the other?

I'd recommend CSR in a heartbeat! Besides having a great main pool area, CSR also offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price. The resort now offers business club level rooms now with lounge access.

CSR has queen beds and the rooms are gorgeous. The rooms also have a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room instead of a privacy curtain like the other mods (can be good for little ones napping in a pack n play).

Amenities include a fitness center, spa, free wi-fi, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night club.

The resort offers the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great and all located in one area at the main pool.

Bus service is terrific and is not shared with another resort.

Based on your postS (emphasis on the S), I'm guessing you work for CSR?

I LOVE POFQ, that said never stayed at CSR. Love the intimacy, the river, the theming, carriage rides, boat ride to DTD, Mardi Groggs and Scat Cats, the beignets, and the gardens/fountains :)

No, I am just a big fan that started a CSR website and forum. If I worked there I worked there, I good post the good news about the resort. Check them out below.

Started going there in 1998, fell in love with the place and have been going every year since.
Okay then, I apologize...just saw the same verbatim post and it honestly sounds like something someone that works there would write ignoring the whole I've stayed at both before...

If transportation and size of resort are game changers, you will want POFQ. It's the smallest of all the mod's and in most cases will not share a bus with POR.

The bus situation is not that much different at either one, so I wouldn't factor that into my selection, but overall, I'd have to give a slight edge to the CSR.
While it's true that the FQ always has a dedicated bus to MK, for the majority of the day, it does share with RS to the remaining 4 destinations.
I don't like when people complain that FQ and Riverside share buses (not saying you're complaining, more just saying)...THEY ARE THE SAME RESORT, THEY AREN'T SHARING ANYTHING!!!

Size does matter and in this case, the smallest the better. I'd go with POFQ. All the perks of a mod, with a hint of Deluxe and no walking more than 5 minutes to get anywhere.

I don't stay at either one, in fact, I'm completely unbiased as I don't stay at any resort. I'm stating the facts.
I would, and a lot of people would as well, disagree that they are the same resort.
I don't see how can you disagree with a fact. Even when they both are Port Orleans and Disney even makes sure you know that by putting it in the name of, get this, BOTH...you guys can think whatever you want but it doesn't reverse the fact it is one resort with two hotels...i.e.: I like to think New Jersey is two states (north and south) but regardless of what I think it's all still one state, New Jersey...

Having stayed at both, I would say POFQ hands down! Don't get me wrong, we loved CSR....but when we stayed at POFQ it was the best resort experience we have had! It's a shame that Elliot Dyson isn't there anymore, but I would still choose POFQ! CSR is a little too spread out and usually has a gaggle of cheerleaders or other conventioneers hanging around. POFQ is simply a delight to stay at and you really get swept away in the magic! Although, the concierge was super rude

We need time for things to happen.
I haven't stayed at both, but I will say this --

Whenever there is a comparison thread around these parts it's almost
always POFQ or________________. or POFQ vs.________________

Not a vote for one or the other because I've only stayed at one of these resorts...but
POFQ always seems to be the litmus test or the comparison resort..

Just Sayin...;)

We also just had this debate before picking our disneymoon resort.. We stayed at pofq last year and loved everything about it, the option of taking a relaxing boat ride to DTD, being able to use pors amenities, the lovely walk along the river, food and bar service were great, we enjoyed the pool. It was a smaller resort, short walks to everything. Now we have never stayed at car before, but from feedback online and my own searches of pictures it is a beautiful resort, but huge! I was worried I would not be as happy as I was with pofq, it also dosnt give me a disney vibe when I look threw pictures.. But that's just my own personal opinion :). I'm sure you will be happy wherever you stay!

We've stayed at both, and while I think most people will prefer POFQ, I really, really liked CSR. I think the grounds were absolutely beautiful, as nice as or nicer than anywhere else on property. The quick service restaurant leaves a little to be desired but I did like the variety. Plus, the pool area is arguably one of the nicest on property behind SB. Both are fairly equivalent in size - I found POFQ to be .. gasp .. kind of plain, like a stroll around a camp ground somewhere out in the woods or something similar, not to mention having our worst guest experiences in all of our trips to WDW.

To be fair, I think both are really quite nice, the best two mods.
