POFQ bus service

Looking at staying here on my next trip with the family but I've read where this resort shares the bus with Riverside. How does that effect the bus service? Our last trip was at CSR that didn't share with anyone else and it was wonderful. Buses came every 15 minutes and we were directly to our park of choice without any hiccups.

I think it depends on the time of day. We were just at POFQ and rode the bus once and did the whole Riverside/POFQ loop. We drive to WDW now so, I always take our van to the park for the day. I am not patient enough with three young kids to wait for a bus.

Just returned from our stay in early June. Morning buses went from FQ directly to the theme parks, no going through Riverside. At the MK, FQ had its own bus stop and bus at all hours of the day. On the return trips from the other parks, FQ and Riverside shared a bus but FQ was dropped off first.

The only exception was the Downtown Disney bus, which dropped off Riverside guests first.

All buses but Magic Kingdom buses are shared between POFQ and POR on the afternoon. During the morning rush there will be exclusive services to EPCOT, DHS and water parks/DTD but buses going to AK are always shared no matter the time of the day. If you have a reservation for breakfast at AK I recommend a cab because they can be (and most of the time are) unpredictable.

The good side of staying at POFQ is even if it share buses with POR, POFQ guests are picked up and dropped off first.

When the crowds are big at CSR due to conventions, those guests aren't using the buses because they are working during the day. I've stayed at both and CSR was much better. Even leaving the parks you can see the difference in the lines at CBR and POR vs CSR.

And CBR and POR have more rooms than CSR.
CBR - 2,112
POR - 2,048
CSR - 1,917

I found the buses always stopped at RS after picking us up, and we did actually experience a bus that dropped us off after going around RS too! It did start to get quite frustrating and seemed to take a long time. We also found waiting for a return bus at the parks to both Port Orleans resorts was often very long. The only time we had a direct bus to the MK was in the morning very early at 7am.
I MUCH preferred CS and their buses seemed much quicker. The other preferred option is to drive.

We've stayed multiple times at POFQ and like the previous posters some trips were direct others ran over to POR. At different times of day going to different parks, full or relatively empty bus. We never knew until we got to the fork in the road and the bus turned to go over to the other resort instead of going out onto the road. Either way it was a relatively quick ride to any of the parks.

We stayed there in October 2010 and it was shared buses with the two resorts...it often meant full buses that could not pick up and waiting for the next one and long rides back to the resort standing room only. One of the big reasons I like CSR over POFQ.

Is this bus ride really THAT long if you have to stop at RS? Seems like it would add an extra 10 minutes?

Depends how many people are at the 4 other bus stops- loading/unloading- and whether there is anybody in ECVs... It would just be frustrating when having waited 10, 20 mins or more for a bus, that having the extra 15 mins or more to go round RS did seem to take THAT long. Especially when tired/coming back or waiting to go to a park to get to a reservation.

I just didn't have that at CS- may have been the luck of the draw and of course in the grand scale of the whole holiday it's not the biggest thing... but when it runs smoothly, well it adds to the Disney magic.
