Any one know the type of pods the Disney machines take? Staying at pop next week and was hoping to just bring our favorite brew with us.

Thanks!

I do believe they are Cuisinart pods (or at least that is what I have heard). Not something you can find in your local store usually as they are geared towards the hospitality industry. If you really need your own coffee you may want to look into an AeroPress.

They are double-sided, single-serve Cuisinart machines that use small filter pack pods -- round and a little larger than a tea bag. I DIY it by bringing my own "pods" from home. I just fold a coffee filter around a Tablespoon or two of my favorite ground coffee -- if you don't know how to do an origami-style fold that will stay secure, you could tie it with butcher's twine or string from a tea bag. I keep each one in a snack-sized Ziploc bag with all the air squeezed out, so it stays as fresh as possible until I'm ready to use it.

This sorcery is pure brilliance! Ill check our local store, and if not ill just walk up to the food court at POP before everyone else awakens to get my cup.

If you're not picky about the brand, you can just use the packs that are provided (there will be regular and decaf, as well as tea). Mousekeeping will replenish them daily. Although the Disney coffee is not the best, knowing that I didn't pay extra for it makes it taste sweeter. ;)

My wife and I were considering waiving the mousekeeping if they are still doing that program at POP, so we knew we wouldnt get replenishment for that, so i figured id ask to see what they were using to see if we could save the walk etc.

Ah, I see!
Yea. Im not 100 percent sure yet, im sure it will be a choice we make when we actually check in on Saturday morn. we dont spend much time in the room as it is, and can totally pick up after ourselves and fetch our own towels if needed etc, so we were considering it, which also means no coffee refills, but as long as i can get it on the way to the bus at the food court i may be OK.

When I stayed at AKL last year, I thought I'd be smart and grab some "pods" at the shop up front. Whoops. Not even close. Nor did they have any other types. Odd.

Bug Mousekeeping enough and they'll put extra in your room or give you a handful if you corner them in the hallway. 🤣

...My Dad bought these for our recent stay at Pop, much better than the Joffreys swill they provide in the room...
Better? It's Folgers. LOL. But yeah, what's provided definitely qualifies as swill. Awesome link though; I'll have to pop for a box before the trip - thanks! 👍

I am a little hesitant about the in room coffee makers. You never know what previous guests have done with them. If we do use them we always run a few cups of water through before we use them to make coffee.
The wife usually just sends me to fill our refillable mugs at the food court. Better coffee by far.

I'm trying to imagine what dastardly, inappropriate uses one might put a single-serve coffee maker to. They don't even have a pot to desecrate with Ramen noodles or meth brewing. (Seriously though, I'd love to hear your specific concerns. If there's something I should be doing to sanitize my in-room coffee maker, I must know...) :)

Probably my paranoia over such things more than anything else. We also NEVER use the "real" glasses in motel rooms anywhere. If you have ever seen any of the undercover reports on motel room housekeeping you wouldn't either. Such things as just wiping down the used glasses with the same towel that was just used to clean the sink make me shudder. And that was in some of the supposed "fine" motels. You would like to think that would never happen at WDW, but nobody watches every move a housekeeper under time pressure makes.
We always use the wrapped disposable paper or foam cups for the coffee maker as our water cups for drinking, taking meds, etc.
FYI the nastiest thing in most motel rooms is the TV remote.
