PO or CB for Springbreak

We are planning a trip to Disney for Spring break 2018. Our family has been to disney several times but never during busy season. We have stayed at both POR and POFQ and really like them both. We enjoy the small size, look and feel, and boat to DS. We have never (in over 20 visits) stayed at CB. My daughter wants to try something different, but I am worried about the size, buses at busy time, and construction.

Any advise? Just looking for any opinions from people who certainly know more than we...

Thanks!

We stayed at CBR in December (third time there) and have stayed at POR several times too. I probably like POR a little better but CBR had better pricing this time. I would definitely try to get more info about construction progress timelines, specifically for Port Royale. Riviera DVC won't be done, but that seems to have less of an impact than centertown construction. It also depends on how you use the resort. We tend to stay at the parks and only sleep at the resort, so don't care about dining options at the resort, but others like to do breakfast there before heading to the parks, or plan pool days where you would be more impacted by construction.

With 1 1/2 of the neighborhoods removed, CBR is smaller than it used to be, so I will defer to anyone who has been recently. But in December it was peak time, so they were running separate bus loops in the morning so that each bus would only stop at 3 or 4 places before heading out. We were in Aruba, which was usually the second stop in the evening (after Jamaica), so it wasn't a long bus ride for us. I think I heard they had changed the route due to construction.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either but I'm a huge fan of trying new resorts. I'd go with CB and try to get a room near the lobby/dining. Depending on the age of your family (kids don't need car seats) if the bus situation feels like it's not working out, try an Uber once. We used it (didn't have my kids with me) to get to MK after missing a bus and we loved it. They dropped us at the TTC but that got us through security and we immediately got on a ferry. Overall, much more comfortable than the bus.
In other words, don't discount CB just due to size/busses. You can work around that.
