It is actually gonna be a boarding station.

Guests go in and are seated in 8 person capsules, these capsules are then launched by compressed air into a tube that travels under the park. They travel all the way to the Magic Kingdom, where they are given an extra boost as they launch out of the missle silos located in the spires of the castle. Once airborn, the rocket engine kicks in and carries the capsule out of the atmosphere into space.
They orbit the earth once and then fall back to earth, landing in the World Showcase lagoon. Upon landing, the boat motor starts up and drives the capsule back to the Mission: Space boarding station. The capsules contain 10 times the computer power as the space shuttle, or 3.3 times as much as Test Track. They refuel in 2 min, the exact time it takes to load and unload.
It is very close to being done and will be ready for Spring 2003.
