Here I got this from a website on askjeeves.com hope it helps... The Enchanted Tiki Room contains Walt Disney's first Audio-Animatronic performers, a rowdy, rousing cast of 225 all-talking, all-singing, all-whistling birds, flowers, masks, drummers, and tiki poles. here is the link if you want it...

Enjoy!
BTW lol if Im wrong.. im sorry.. I typed i the question in AJ and that's what I got...

The Enchanted Tiki Room was the first AA show, but it didn't contain the very first Audio Animatronic. The very first one was called "Dancing Man." It was a small figure in a small theater who mimicked the dancing of a very famous dancer of that time (the name escapes me). The figure was powered by a modified Bell and Howell movie projector that provided both the movement information and the soundtrack. The entire figure, theater, projector and all is currently on display at One Man's Dream in the MGM studios. I took a picture of it on my last trip. It didn't come out very well, but if you want me to post it, I will.

Thank You !!!

Thank You very very much, My brother and I will disagree until we get to WDW in Nov. I agree with you and I thank you for the clearing of the fog. lol
I also, found out some more info about the "Barbershop Quartet" this was based on Granny Kincaid's Cabin, based on so Dear To My Heart (1949) this was displayed in 1952 at the Festival of California Living held at the Pan Pacific Auditorium in Los Angeles. All of this is in Mr. Bob Thomas's book called: Walt Disney: An American Original.

The picture will be great THX one quick question >> does this say the "Dancing Man " is the first AA????? My brother seems to think that the first is this head that was only a machine.
Again Thanks for the time and help

Ok, I pulled out my book, Walt Disney Imagineering, A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real, and looked up the page on AA's. According to the book, Walt Disney discovered a lifelike mechanical bird in a shop in New Orleans. He brought it back to California and asked one of the workers in his machine shop to find out how it worked. He then asked animation art director Ken Anderson to try to create a small figure he called "Dancing Man." The final figure is nine inches tall and replicates the movements of Buddy Ebsen, who the team filmed. He is on a stage which was mostly build by Walt Disney himself.

Here's a picture:http://photoalbums.wdwmagic.com/showphoto.php?photo=10753&password=ee1a19c57a6eb38ed74b373d225d5ed8&sort=1&cat=500&page=1

Next, the Disney team tried synchronized mouth movements and created the barbershop quartet. Animatronics development was then put on hold until the completion of Disneyland. Soon after, Walt decided to create a talking Confucious figure for a propsed Chinese restaraunt. Unfortunately, the face mask deteriorated quickly during testing, but the mechanics in the head worked very well. I believe that this is what your brother is referring to. True, this was the first lifelike human figure, but was actually the third AA figure created. The Chinese restaraunt idea fell through, but soon after the team came up with the idea for a tropical themed restaraunt complete with singing birds. This evenutally morphed into the first AA show, the Enchanted Tiki Room.
