I want to write a "fake" company history, based on real company history leading to the early '80s. The made up bit will be after the early 80's and will be one of those "what if" histories.
What I want to know are all the details about the sale of WED Community Transportaion Services to Bombardiar. The only information I found, through a Google search, are from Disney fan sites. I'm looking for news articles or even corporate reports that discuss it. There's no mention of it on Bombardiar's website.
The fake history I want to write is "what if Disney held on to WEDCTS?". I want to explore what might have happened. Monorail expansion property wide? People movers every where? I know they were researching PRT before the sale. Would there be a PRT system at WDW? Imagineers had dreamt of maglevs during the development of Horizons. Did the Imagineers at WEDCTS also explore this? If so, would a WEDCTS-designed maglev be in service today making connections between WDW, Orlando International Airport, the Vero Beach resort, and the cruise line terminal at Cocoa Beach? Where else would we be seeing WEDway Peoplemovers outside the parks?
You get the scope of where this could go. Would be very interesting. But it has to start with solid facts on the state of where everything was and where it was going during the time period right about when they sold it.
