Platinum Pass benefits?

Hello all, what are the benefits of the Disney Platinum Pass as far as special offers go (i.e. hotels, dining, merchandise, recreation, tours (which tours)?)

Also, how will Fast Pass / MagicBands work? Do I need to sign-up/pay for the Passholder Program on top of the Platinum Pass?

My wife and I typically stay at the Holiday Inn on International Blvd and get the benefit of the shuttle to/from the parks vs. staying at the more expensive hotels on Disney property... I'm wondering what kind of prices to expect with a Platinum Pass?

The room offers are only about 5% more than the public room offers on average. So not much difference in savings over the public offers. All AP's also get 10% off on merchandise at most stores on property etc. You save 15% off tours as well as an AP member.
Your Platinum Pass makes you a Passholder if that's what your asking. Platinum Pass is just a type of Passholder pass available. You now also get the memory maker included with your pass so all picture downloads are free while you have a current pass.

My opinion as I am currently looking to buy AP as well is that platinum isn't worth the cost unless you use the extra facilities like water parks ect. The gold offers pretty much everything but with a few block out weeks. (But I wouldn't recommend going during those times anyway)
