Planning our first trip...

Hello everyone.

I just discovered this forum today and thought I would post what I have planned so far in case I am missing anything.

We're book for 4-22 through 4/25 at the POR for myself, husband and 5 yo daughter. I have going to MK twice with one visit to HS and AK, skipping Epcot this time. I have our reservations for the Hoop-Dee-Doo show, Cinderella Castle dinner with a visit to Bididdi Bobiddi Boutique in the morning.

Is there anything else that I am missing? Any words of wisdom?? I'll be perusing the forums to see what else I can read up on.

Get the unofficial guide to Disney and READ!!!! Dinner at the castle is Fairy Godmother no princess IMO not the best choice. Don't skip EPCOT if possible some great attractions Test Tract was just redone, The Seas is Nemo themed and your daughter can talk to crush, Soarin is one of the best rides on the planet not to mention the quality and variety of food! Just remember you can't see or do everything in 1 trip!!!! The absolute best tip I can give you is to be at the park for opening 30 minutes prior to official opening, you will get so much more done if you do this!!! Best Wishes and welcome!!!!!

1. You simply CAN'T skip Epcot. It's a great park, and has some of the best attractions that Disney has to offer. The food is great, and so is the atmosphere.
2. Make sure you get to the parks 25-35 minutes ahead of the park opening. You'll need to go through bag check and wait in line to put your ticket through the machine. Going earlier than park opening should make it so you can walk into the park as soon as it open. You will also get so much more done in the morning as a lot of people aren't at the parks yet. You'll find that the later the day goes on, the more people there are.
3. Take breaks during the afternoon for an hour or two. Go back to your resort and swim or just chill. This will stop you from getting burned out halfway through the day. And if you get tired halfway through the day, you'll miss out on the wonders of nighttime at WDW. Some say Disney is most magical at night, and I tend to agree.
4. Bring shoes that are comfortable to walk in. You will be walking several miles in a day, you don't want your feet to be sore anymore than they have to. Also, the wrong shoes will lead to blisters.
5. Buy the Unoffcial Guide to Walt Disney World. It has tons of useful information and it would be worth the money.
6. Have fun. Don't assume that you'll be able to do everything, because you can't. I've gone to WDW 11 times, each time being a week, and I still have yet to do a lot of it. Don't let the heat or crowds get to you, it will just make your vacation unpleasant.

Hope I helped, and welcome to the forums! :)

Thank you both!! We'll have to rethink Epcot.

We do plan on spending the afternoon at the hotel relaxing so we can make it later into the night.
