My husband and I got married at WDW last year and now we are planning a first-time trip to DL and DCA from Nov. 1-6.

At WDW (because of the timing of of our visit) we were very disappointed to find several rides closed and also the parks closing early. We are looking to avoid that happening at DL so... does anyone know:

1. When the Christmas decorations will go up? Will IASW or HM (or anything else) be closed while they put up the decorations?
2. Approximate park hours?
3. Any rides being refurbed at that time?
4. If the parks close early will they still run the evening parades/shows/fireworks?

We are willing to adjust our trip dates a little in order to make sure we don't miss anything!

2. Not super late as it's a slower time of year.

3. Many rides are being refurb'd at DL right now.

Christmas decorations should start popping up during your visit. I’ve seen decorations going up immediately after Halloween.
Last year, IASW holiday opened Nov. 5th, so I expect it to open around the same time frame this year. You have a shot of experiencing IASW holiday. HMH will be running during your stay (it opens in early October.)

Just a warning: the Christmas parade won't be up and running yet.

Christmas comes early to D/L every year...ugghh

Usually a small amount of decorations (usually overhead stuff) come out the day after halloween and then all the decorations and Xmas parade comes out the Holliday week of Thansksgiving.

As for Aprox. park hours....D/L 9-8 and DCA 10-6...depends on what happens for the 50th...

Rehab...its tough to say IASW, Matterhorn, and Indy usually happen in the Fall months...again its hard to say because of the 50th....I would also expect TOT to get a rehab here soon...its been running now for a full year without any stops.

No pyro till Xmas breaks...

If your willing to change your dates....Id shoot for the 1st week of Dec. Kids are back in school, all the decorations are up...IASW and HM will be running.
