Good Evening All,

My wife and I has had many discussions about our future....My wife and I would like to work for WDW when we retire. Although it is not the near future, I feel we should start a planning process. I am 44, with a career as an EMT, and my wife is 39, with a career as a CPA. I am posting this request to gain further knowledge of how the many couples have planned for this after retiring journey, relocated to FL, and worked for WDW. The first basic question, What is a starting point?

Have A great Evening,

Mark

Aww, how sweet. :)

Lovely and romantic as that sounds, you would have to go through the same process as everyone else. There is no married couple advantage or package.

The first starting point would probably be to move to Orlando or the Los Angeles area or anywhere they have a Disney resort.

After that, go on the disney website or perhaps go into the casting office and apply for any open positions you may be interested in. If there are no open positions that interest you, well then look again next week or a few weeks later. Right before summer, and right before the holidays I noticed is the best time.

After you find a position you like you interview and if you are offered a position, you take it.

With retiring, it all depends on how well you do in your position, and what your definition of retirement is I guess.

As far as whether the both of you work at disney together, or in the same location or area, I can't say for sure. Each of you will have to apply separately, and you will be treated as two individual employees.

pft, I'm 29 and my wife and I are planning to work at Disney when we retire! I'm 29 and she's 26. When we retire (which we want to as fast as possible), we plan to move to Celebration. My first choice would be bus driver. She wants to be friends with the fairy godmother.
