Planning Anniversary!

I am trying to plan my 5th wedding anniversary. I want to plan a weekend trip and stay at a deluxe hotel that we have never stayed at before. My wife and I got engaged at the Poly, so I thought about staying at the Grand Floridian this trip. We have never stayed there before, but I read online that the Grand Floridian has a lot of refurbs going on now. I am not considering the Animal Kingdom Lodge with the view of the Savannah. Are there any other suggestions? Would the Grand Floridian still be a good place to go even with the refurbs?

Any input would be appreciated!

I would stick w/ the POLY. Make it a tradition.:)
If you want to try something new, then stay at Bay Lake Tower or the Contemporary Theme Park Tower View.:)

Im with bethymouse on this one go back to the Poly. My wife and I will celebrate our anniversary at WDW next month. I purposely made ADR's for CRT because that is where we got engaged three years ago to the day. But my wife is the sentimental sort and I know this is what she'd want.

My husband & I honeymooned at the Poly & loved it! We spent our 1st anniversary at the Boardwalk, and loved it even more. It's a very romantic resort - and it's our favorite. You can walk to Epcot, Hollywood Studios & Fantasia Gardens minigolf. You'd take a bus to AK & MK. I recommend checking it out. =-)

I don't know much about the refurbs at GF, but in my experience refurbs are usually well blended into the scenery. I've never been extremely bothered by any of them. It's a beautiful resort, as is the Poly, and I think you'd have a great time at either one of these.
