We are planning to visit in mid-December and I know I need to book something soon as prices are surely going up fast. It will be myself, my girlfriend and her 3 children. We'd like to get either a suite with two separate sleeping areas or get two adjoining hotel rooms. It would be nice to be close to Disneyland Resort, but as long as it's a hotel that offers shuttle service and it's not too far away, that would work too. One of the children is 3 so we'll need to build in time to go back to the hotel for mid-day naps. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We have stayed at the Fairfield on Harbor Dr and it's easy walking distance. There is a McDonalds in the adjoining parking lot which is handy for breakfast.we had adjoining rooms.

I like the Residence Inn options, there is one on Clementine next to the Anaheim Garden Walk, and a new one near the corner of Harbor and Katella.

The new Hyatt House at the corner of Harbor and Katella, above the Walgreens. Also the Springhill Suites at the corner above the CVS.

So there are some new options that are suites and would have some rooms with separate living/sleeping areas.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn this year with 5 adults. We had plenty of room, with 2 beds and a small couch that pulled out into a single bed. We were impressed with the facility and the staff was great. We felt we were staying on Disney property with how polite and helpful the staff was.
