I was just looking at a map of WDW when i saw two places that i don't think ive ever seen or heard of :veryconfu The first is called team disney and is (from what I can gather) across the road from Downtown Disney! The second is much more obsure its attached to the monorail system, just before the monorail turns right to enter Contemporary it can turn left and and enter a buliding to the side of MK! What are these two places, what are they used for and does anyone have any pics  Thanks alot! :king: :)

If I'm not mistaken, it is where repairs are made on the monorails.

1 - Team Disney is the slick main administrative building for WDW. The center court area is actually a sun dial and is open to the sky above. It's extremely modern and artistic. You can freely walk around some of the building.

Right next door is Casting, which is another building you probably haven't ever been in. It also looks modern and artistic. The roof looks like it's held up by the seven dwarves.

2 - The other building is the monorail storage bay. That's where the monorails are repaired and stored at the end of the day.

But if you want to see and go in this building, take the Magic Behind Our Streamtrains tour. The building is two story. The ground floor is the engine sheed for the steam trains. The top floor is the monorail barn. The tour takes you inside the lower level but you can see into the top floor. Looks kinda like a monorail station with 10 tracks.

Now I always thought it was the other way around-that the Team Disney building was the one whose roof was held up by the dwarves.

Sweet! You'll have to let me know what you thought. It wasn't exactly what I expected when I took it, but it was still a really really wonderful tour.

And I got to ring the bell on one of the steam locomotives. :sohappy:

Team Disney is the one with the sundial if I remember correctly. Casting is in a castle-looking building next door, both across from Downtown Disney. Are the dwarfs holding up the roof on the casting building in FL? I thought that was the animation building in CA.

The building by MK is where they service the monorails and the MK trains.

The casting building is so very cool. The handles of the main entrance look like the talking handle on Alice in Wonderland. The architecture and design of the whole building is just amazing.

The casting building does not have the seven dwarves holding the roof.
Darn it, I think you're right. I swear I saw Dwarves on the back of the building (when looking at it from I-4). I only found one pic of it on the net, and it definately doesn't help my case. Haha

I will persue this further when I get back later tonight
