Pixar Sequels

Does Pixar have the right to tell Disney they want to do a sequel to one of there movies? If they do is it a Disney film? I know Disney owns the characters but I thought Pixar had first dibs at making a sequel.

Nope. Pixar doesn't have the right to squat. Disney owns all the Pixar movies lock, stock and barrel. Disney can make any sequels they so desire. Pixar can not touch those properties!

Eisner made sure that Disney didn't fall into another George Lucas problem.

Thats strange I thought I read somewhere Disney has to offer the sequel to Pixar first.

Will the new Toy Story just say "Disney presents..."?

I did hear that Pixar gets 10% of the sequel Disney makes. Right?

Disney has the right to make the sequels to all the Pixar films made under the current agreement, paying Pixar only limited royalties (it isn't 10%). <!--startclickprintexclude--><!--startclickprintexclude--><!--endclickprintexclude--><!--endclickprintexclude-->While Pixar has the right of first refusal to make the sequels, under the current agreement it would have to put up half the money and get only 35 percent of the profit, which makes it extremely unlikely Pixar will make the sequels.
