Pirates wins top motion picture award

Pirates wins the award for best motion picture, well at least by "the people".

On CBS's "The People's Choice Awards", Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl beat out Finding Nemo and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers as the best motion picture of 2003, according to those who voted. Although Pirates is unlikely to win an Oscar for best picture, its nice to know that the "real" people who watch movies thought Pirates was the best this year Congratulations Disney on producing such a great film (now don't mess up the sequel )

Congrats to Pirates! Now, if only Depp is nominated for a best actor Oscar... It seems Disney created some of there finest live action pictures this year.

It always seems that the academy ignores the most popular (and best pictures). In a perfect world movies like Big Fish and Holes would be running neck and neck for best picture instead of artsy independent films that serve only the purpose of shocking and disturbing the viewer.

Agreed, let the people decide, I do not watch the Oscar's or any of the other movie or awards shows because it seems like noone I like ever wins...
