Well, considering the trailer to Country Bears, I can barely wait for Haunted Mansion and Pirates... :lookaroun

A slight deference between PotC and Country Bears is that Jerry Bruckheimer will be producing and possibly directing PotC.

I disagree

Somehow, I disagree with these movies. I think it takes away from the specialness of these rides, and puts it out to the public for it to step on. Considering the way Disney makes live-action movies today, I'm sure its going to be a flop. They're going to sugarcoat it and the public who doesn't visit the parks enough are going to see these rides and remember how bad the movie was. Also, a negative aspect of the movies is, that if they're a hit, then knowing the Eisner-Pressler combination of producing attractions, they'll change the timeless originals so that the public associates the rides more with the movies. UGHHH!! Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but Jerry Bruckheimer?? Armegeddon, and Pearl Harbor??? I don't think I need to say anymore... :brick:

The two of three biggest grossing films in Disney history. (Sixth Sense was the third)

Other Disney live action that were hits: (All fall under Walt Disney Pictures, not Touchtone, Hollywood Pictures, Miramax, etc.)

The Rookie
Remember the Titans
101 Dalmations
Cool Runnings
Disney's The Kid
The Princess Diaries
Spy Kids
Flubber

Another couple reasons I think they are making movies based on rides is because they are running low of ideas and it's a great way to advertise the parks while making money on the movie.

And in an e-mail to CMs about the opening of The Rookie, Eisner mentioned Eddie Murphy for the HM movie.

I saw the trailer for Country Bears and it looks like it could be OK. The problem will be getting people in to see it. It will be definately labeled as a prescool movie.

Well..

For me personally, I didn't care for either of them. I dunno, I'd like to see the project got to a more creative team... wait, I disagree with the whole thing all together. I'm sorry, I really think it takes away from the rides, and as for the Eddie Murphy thing, I don't really care for him either. Let's hope these don't go through, and if they do, I'm 2 dimes richer! (If I had a dime, for everytime Walt rolled over in his grave....)

And who or what is he supposed to play???
Maybe it's just me, but I never thought about Eddie Murphy while riding the Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor.
