Pirates row 6?

Went on pirates last night with fast pass....which I agree is a joke....yet when we arrived for loading I noticed they didn't sit anyone in row six of any boats. They actually had roped off the line entrance for row six on both sides. Any ideas why disney might do this? I just thought it was unnecessary to back up the lines by not sitting additional 5 people on each boat. Park was very busy to begin with and it was even more aggravating to see that with all of the guests in the park they would make such a call....

I was thinking about that too but just seemed odd that they came up with that as a solution.... Seems unlike disney to half it by just not seating people

It's because the new boats have a defect and allow a ton of water in the back row, so much as to close that row. Take a look next time and see how much water is back there. It's been this way for nearly a year.
Still seems like
5 people?? Perhaps if it's a family with 3 small children. Most rows get 2 adults these days.....given the ever-increasing size of the average guest.
good point I guess I was thinking more off a family sitting in there....but yes I do notice most of the rides can only comfortably fit two '2014' body types haha

It's the new boats. The boats are made from Disneyland's version and they have never worked right on WDW's. When the boats climb the lift, all the standing water settles in the back row.

It's cheaper to do nothing and just close down the row (and provide diminished service for the guests) than it would be to fix the problem and reprofile the drop so the nose doesn't plow in as quickly.

So if I bring my hand drill on board and bore a few holes to let the water out ... can I sit in row 6 ?? :D

They are doing the same thing at Disneyland (not seating people in the last row). Sounds like there is an issue is with the boats at both parks.

This is why I never request the first or last row, they both take on water.
When we were there a month ago, they were going to put us in the first row and I specifically asked for a middle row.

Sadly no plane seats can accommodate any 2014 size bodies... then again the rules governing those seat were based on the average adult in the 1950's... Though back to Disney, I thought they had already started upsizing their ride seats already? Hadn't they already started making Small World boats larger for that very reason at DL years ago?
