Good Afternoon. AP is carrying this today

'Pirates' Film to Premiere at Disneyland

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The stars of the new movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" can shout they're "going to Disneyland." Since the movie was inspired by the Disneyland ride, that's where the premiere will be.

The studio's setting up a huge screen outdoors across the water on Tom Sawyer Island. And, invited guests will watch the film from seats set up in New Orleans Square.

The premiere's set for this Saturday, June 28.

"Pirates of the Caribbean," starring Johnny Depp (news), opens July 9. And, Disneyland is kicking non-invited guests out of the park around four Saturday afternoon.

I'm wondering if it's cool for Disney to do that. I mean, one thing is to kick Guests out at 8 PM for E-Ride Nights, but at 4?!?!?

Cool, except, I agree: let paying guests stay. It would create even more excitement! Give a red-carpet premiere walk down Main Street to assigned seats in the viewing area, but let the regular crowd stay and watch how the hoopla plays out on the news: "Crowds throng to Pirates premiere," etc....
