Pirates and Pals

Well of course since I always decide these trips less than 60 days out and sometimes ike this one less than a month, I was unable to get a dessert party ADR to watch Wishes. Got to nosing around and found this fireworks cruise that takes off from the CONT so I booked it for the Friday night we arrive for our weekend at BLT. Anybody do this before? Heard they serve snacks and if I read it right Captain Hook makes an appearance?

We did this years ago and it was AWESOME!!! Since we did do this years ago, I am not sure if it changed.
We met in CR and there was bagged snacks: pretzels, chips, crackers. There was also bottled water and pop. I'm sure a ton more, but I can't recall.
There was a meet'n greet with Captain Hook & Mr Smee prior to sailing.
There were 2 boats that went out, and we we're assigned which boat upon checking in. We had a pirate that guided our voyage with trivia & prizes (really fun...I think everyone won something!) We also had anniversary buttons on so the entire boat sang to us...so if celebrating a special occasion, I'd definitely let them know. Our pirate was also hysterical. I remember my cheeks hurting by the time we returned from laughing so much.
Firework viewing was AMAZING!!! We viewed HalloWishes. The music is pumped right into the boat. I felt like we were so immersed, yet we were out on the 7SL.
One thing I wished I was advised prior was to bring insect repellant. We all left with numerous mosquito bites.
Upon docking there is a "surprise" meet'n greet with Peter Pan.
This was by far one of the best experiences I ever had through WDW. Reflecting makes me want to go again.
I hope this helped, but perhaps someone with more recent experience will tell you different.
Enjoy :)

We took our 2 year old, Hook & Smee obsessed, little boy and he LOVED it. However, I think myself & my DH loved it as much as him!

We were all given bandanas to wear when we 'checked in', which really helped to get everyone into the spirit. As has been said by the previous poster, there are plenty of snacks to tuck into before the trip- pretzels, popcorn, cake, Mickey ice cream sandwiches, fruit and hot & cold beverages. From what I can recall, snacks & drinks were allowed to be taken on board.

When Hook & Smee came in for a meet & greet, I thought my boy was going to pop with excitement. He couldn't believe it. I nearly cried! The characters were great with everyone. We were then all gathered to get ready to walk down to the boat. We were told that we would be on the 'Hook boat', and, along with our pirate host, Hook walked with us. He made a big fuss of our boy as he could see how excited he was (also he was wearing his 1st trip button) and walking along and singing songs, was so much fun.
The actual boat trip itself was awesome. Our pirate was hilarious, singing songs & making jokes. He kept in character so well & really made the trip special. Of course, the view of Wishes was terrific and although that really should be the main draw of doing Pirates and Pals, the whole experience really outshone them!
Seeing Peter Pan waiting at the dock when we returned was really the icing on the cake. It finished off the evening beautifully, and it was easily one of our most treasured memories from the trip. You'll have a blast! :)

Meant to say that all the kids were given a gift when leaving the boat. Our boy was given a a pirate rubber duck :) Nice touch.
This is the view we had of Wishes, plus the awesome cake that was served along with the snacks.
