Ohhh awesome pins lol...

They look like older pins which some of the pin traders who look for pre pincraze pins could consider fairly valuble. If not you can use them for general pin trades in the parks (sometimes you can find cool trades that way). Do they all have the disney copywrite on the back?

I didn't know Blossom was Disney. You learn something new everyday. (Side note I actually ran into her on campus here my freshman year but couldn't figure out who she was till afterwards lol).

I think they look very interesting, especially the nightmare before christmas one and the marsi. one.

Okay now I'm missing pin trading. I think it's a sickness I have. Anyone know the cure? lol

I might better get your advice since I have never traded before :)

I'm not THAT knowledgable about pins. I have worked Pin Central before at Epcot though and have picked up some knowledge, learned who to avoid and who to trade with, learned who to just get information from. If you decide to trade at WDW look for the Super Pin Traders at Epcot. Mike and Amy are really nice and can help you out. They know more than I do anyways.

My habit is to just trade for things I really want, I've traded a CM exclusive pin for a DL Belle float pin because I really really liked that pin.

Ok, do you know the difference between cloisonn /enamel and silk screened? That would be a big deciding factor. The home Improvement for instance, looks like it’s probably silk screened in which case, it’s long term value goes down because the bubble over it will turn yellow and fog up with age making it a poor collectable because it is almost impossible to preserve. The silk screen pins are much easier and cheaper to produce and are the choice when it comes to giveaway pins (both in and outside of Disney) because of that… Being that they are rather unique, you might find someone interested in them for sentimental or personal reasons at which point their true value as a collectable is irrelevant. As far as what you paid, as long as it came out to less than $6.50 a pin you are in good shape because they can all be traded with cast members for pins that cost that much. They all look neat though and they are unique and if you are happy with them yourself, I don’t think any trader would laugh at you for having them in your collection. I think Angelique suggested you talk to the Super Pin traders. Amy in particular is extremely nice and helpful. She has actually won awards for it. (Plus, she’s the only super trader that has her own cape – although it’s been a while since I’ve seen her in it) ;)

Amy has her own cape? I was there 7 months and never saw a cape LOL. I always stopped by Pin Central even when I wasn't working there to say hi to whoever was working. I think Darren didnt much like me but Mike is funny and really nice and Amy is very very nice. She was profiled in the Disney Magazine ... I think I don't know whictch issue off the top of my head cause it's not where I last saw it lol.

Do you trade Mr. P?

no I dont know the difference between cloisonn /enamel and silk screened.. not a pin collector other then the few I have like tink and resort pins ... just a collector in the fact that its something disney .. I have alot of unusal disney items like a babie plate that has no number except the number that were made and a peter pan plate that has no numbers at all. I only picked up the set of pins because of the Blossom pin and I will be honest the price was $2.00 for all of them. But I think since I havent heard anything at all from Dizpins ( although I did find 4 of them there and it said they were CM pins) I will take them with me this year and see what I can find out. I just though with all the pin trading it would be kinda nice to know what I had. Some day I would love to find out about the plates too.

Yep! It has a big "SP" on the back, although it's been a while since I've seen her in it... I think for a while, she had a wand, too  ;)

Do I trade? Well, I've been known to dabble in mutual funds now and then Nothing too heavy, though. ;)

Well, the cloisonee /enamel, will have an outline around each of the colors that matches the plating of a pin. Another words, if the back of the pin is gold in color, there will be gold outlines around each color. If the back is black, then everything will be outlined in black (sort of like the way things are outlined in animation). The silk screen tends to look more realistic and is done by just printing whatever on the front surface of the pin and then placing a "bubble" of clear plastic over it to protect it. The bubble isn't always and indication of silk screening because it's sometimes used on the other as well but if it looks like it could have been printed on paper, it's probably the silk screen variety. If you picked them all up for $2, you are in good shape. Each one of those pins could be traded in the parks if you so choose, with cast members. The cheapest pins in WDW are usually $6.50 so you would be doing what is known as trading up... If there are any of those pins that you aren't happy with, it's an easy was to get rid of them and get something you want... On the other hand, they are unique pins. Since you don't sound like you plan to get too heavily into this, I would suggest taking the ones you can life without and keeping the ones you like at home :)

Sorry, I can't tell you anything about the plates :(

going by my understand of your discription then these must all be cloisonee /enamel. I wouldnt even begin to know where to search for info on the plates ..they have the disney trade mark and marked as limited edition but they seem like they were goofs because of the missing number. another "set" of unusal disney stuff I have picked up .. is mixed set of bells with charactors on them, I dont know ..I just see stuff and no idea if its worth anything at all :) like a mickey mouse am radio I picked up a few years ago ..he is sitting in a blue chair, prolly not worth a dime but to me its special

Do you mean that you think they might be defects because they don't have an edition size on them or because they aren't labeled #125 of 1,000 or something like that? That doesn't mean anything at all. They release plenty of stuff that they consider Limited Edition without printing the edition run on the actual item. They've done it with the pins several times (much to peoples dismay) as well as with many other things. That doesn't mean they are seconds at all :)
