Pinocchio Village Haus

I have a quick question/complaint/observation to share. We were at WDW last week and using the quick service dining plan. With two small children, we always try to figure out what we want ahead of time so as to not bottleneck the line up at the registers. After a week, we were pretty good at using the dining plan and knowing how to order efficiently.

At Pinocchio Village Haus, we were told (rudely) that we could get a side OR a dessert, but not both. This is different than every other quick service location. We were also told that the bread sticks (which were listed on the menu under "sides") could not be ordered as a side. I asked to use an additional snack credit for the bread sticks (they had the purple and white DDP logo next to the item on the paper menu we were handed at the door) and again told no (rudely). The CM told me that it was a typo and bread sticks were not a snack credit.

I have two issues here. If a restaurant is on the QS list, then it should adhere to the same rules as everywhere else. I thought the flat bread pizza was delicious and would go there again, but let me know up front whether the restaurant follows the established QS rules or not. The other issue really boils down to a lack of customer service. If the menu says an item is on the DDP, then honor it. Disney could print new menus overnight to fix the "typo", or they could not hand out the menus at all, or they could honor the menu as written. Any of those fixes would be acceptable to me.

It certainly didn't ruin my whole day, but am I wrong for being frustrated by this? We had a great trip, but now that I'm home I thought I'd share this experience.

The cm was probably rude because he/she had been asked that a 100 times. That's no excuse. They could easily have put up a sign at the door or had the person giving out the menus tell everyone the changes if they didn't want to print new menus.

Thanks for sharing your experience, and its probably worth a letter to WDW to let them know about their printed errors on their signs...

Incidentally, I hate pizza at the World (with the exception of the average Via Napoli gourmet thin crust pizzas, which really aren't real pizzas for us New Yorkers)...but I agree that the flatbreads at Pinocchios were really good -- and surprisingly so. I'd get them again, too.
