PIN- not for our dates Ouch!

We were hoping to go to WDW in October, but were waiting for a discount. Finally we received a PIN in the mail and.... there is a two week break in October where the PIN for free dining is not valid. It happens to be during the time we were planning our trip. I keep pricing our trip, but it really hurts to miss out on the free dining. It's an $800 difference for us. It's hard to justify paying full price for a trip. Not sure if I should just forget about going or what I should do. Any advice?

Only you can determine if the price of the vacation you have booked is something you can both afford and find the value in. No one on the boards can make that call for you.

If you are able to adjust your travel dates, then I would say go for it to save the money.

This is exactly what I would suggest. We have missed discounts by a few days, many times!! LOL However, my husband works for the Government and can't jockey the dates, so rack rate it is :(

Wow...that's unfortunate. Personally, I don't ever book a vacation contingent upon getting a discount at some point, you never know what you are going to get. Is the pin only for free dining, or is there a pin for discounted room stay attached to it as well? I would look to see what kind of room discounts you can get and try to make up some of your expenses there.

Just a quick question that I'm not sure anyone will be able to answer but here it goes anyway. If we put a deposit for our trip in June 2014 does that make it more or less likely that we would receive a pin code?
