Pictures of Fantasia Fairways?

I live in Arkansas where there are many beautiful golf courses, so I was really excited to learn that Fantasia Fairways is more of a shrunken golf course than your average mini-golf course.

My question is does anyone have photos of the course? Have any of you played recently? Is it really as cool as I think it will be?

I have googled the heck out of this topic and only come up with 2 pictures, one was at night and you couldn't really see anything.

Thank you!

This probably won't help at all but you can see it when you drive by. Looks pretty cool I guess. When you planning on going?

I am going in january for my honeymoon, 8th-15th. I have checked out allears, but they only have the one small picture of Fairways, the other pictures are of Fantasia Gardens mini-golf.

I did manage to pull up the pics from disneytrivia through googleimage search and those are the ones i found.

For the most part i understand that this course is a grass course with par 3s and 4s. I was just wondering if disney kept them nice or they let them run down like most mini-golf attractions.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Fantasia Gardens IS a miniature golf course. However, Disney does own 5 18-hole Golf Courses: the Magnolia, the Palm, Lake Buena Vista, Eagle Pines, and Osprey Ridge.

Each mini golf venue has 2 courses... Fantasia Gardens is paired with Fantasia Fairways - one set up like a typical mini-golf course with the traps, windmills etc...but Disney themed. The other course is like a regular golf course, just miniaturized... one course is pure fun and the other takes a little more skill. In essence, there are four mini-golf courses.

We usually go to Fantasia Gardens because we then head over to the Boardwalk for the evening. Check the links below for all sorts of info on both locations.

You need to understand that the Fantasia Fairways course is NOT your typical miniature golf course. Fantasia Gardens and the Winterland/Summerland courses are what you normally expect from miniature golf--fun and zany hole layouts with various obstacles and themes, but with at least a calculable chance to make a hole-in-one on just about every hole. A foursome can play each of these courses in about an hour (barring slow-moving players in front of you).

But the Fairways course plays like "real" golf--sand traps, rough, out-of-bounds areas, and other challenges of the game--all dealt with only with a putter and, of course, patience. It is LOTS of fun, but plan to spend more time than the other courses require. We played last year and our foursome took nearly 3 hours to play the course. You need to calculate speed and curves to avoid sand traps and the other hazards. Forget about holes-in-one: Making par is a challenge, but gets easier the longer you play and the more you approach the game as golf and not just as miniature golf.

If I remember correctly, the Fairways Course is one of only 7 such courses in the world, and after playing it I could not help but wonder why there aren't more.

Have fun!

P.S. Report back after your trip and let everyone know what you think.

Well, from my POV, i found it extremely frustrating. That course was really hard for everyone in my party, it was hard for us to get it in the hole in a reasonable number of strokes. I expected something more difficult, but the jump caught me off-guard. I'd think that it would have the same effect on your average mini-golf player. Maybe that's why there aren't more :)

I watched a travel channel segment on these types of "miniature" golf courses and I though that Fantasia Fairways was one of them. I will take pictures when I'm there and report back after my trip.

The fairways at Fantasia are so much fun. Such a good challenge. When my family and I stayed at the Boardwalk we would walk over almost every night to play mini golf (both courses) hehe. They're open late... I think 11pm or so? Nice time to play golf, it's cooler and not as busy. Let us know if you enjoyed them!!!
